Teck's '86 K5 Build -5.3 LS/4L65E swap

@Teck any chance you have another lead on that radiator support? LMC has a big block radiator support, I’m just not sure that it is the right one.

I have an oversized radiator in my truck... not sure what it came from... it’s mounted pretty haphazardly.

Thanks!

Rob

Did you try classic parts.

I looked into Classic Parts... Does not seem to be on their site. How about the LMC truck version?

Part Number 32-0988.

Really glad I came across this thread. Beautiful truck. Exactly what I imagine in my head the perfect K5 would look like....... now I need 5 more inches of lift and some fat 39” tires.....

Hey @Teck

I just realized that we didn’t get a yearly reminder about your truck’s anniversary. Everything going well there in Texas?

Happy Holidays!

Rob

In the process of adding AMP power steps to my K5
These are the brackets I purchased to be able to mount them. Taking them to the powder coater tomorrow. More on this when I get them back and go pick up the steps from summit.

I've been eyeing a few that have retrofitted these steps. What part number step kit did you order for those brackets? Appears the brackets drill and mount to the backside of the rocker?

Just ordered the 76154-01A on Amazon they are 250.00 cheaper then summit. They are for 2014/18 Chevy crew cab

I found all this stuff on Squarebodynation Facebook. Saw a guy that did them and that was where I found the guy that makes the brackets.I will get the info on them and post it.

Great info, I saw them on a truck and they only used the powered hinge so it had a short step which is what I would do since I still have saddle tanks. Look forward to your install.

The two I come across one guy cut his the length of the door The other one cut his from fenderwell to fenderwell. They said you just remove the ends cut to the length you want and replace the ends

Yup exactly, I have an 06 Regular Cab 2500 with amps on it, knock the end caps off, cut to length and put the caps back on.
