Tesla Cybertruck pickup truck

Hook anything behind it that range will drop quick and that's the problem right there. For a daily commuter which most half ton trucks are it'll be fine but when folks start towing and have to stop every couple of hours for 20-45mins to charge it's going to piss people off. Folks may have to stop every couple of hours now while towing but it's for 5-10mins and you've got a full tank and are on the road and there is a station in every town. Not so with the charging. They've gotta get the infrastructure built up and the charging times down before people will really latch on to going electric. I've got a jobsite currently that's 3hrs one my way fromhouse with no charging station in between. And unless the general contractor is cool with me charging my truck at his trailer while I walk the job I'm screwed or I have to stay there for however long a 110v plug takes to charge a battery. It's just not practical.

This thing is so ugly. Doesn't matter though, the tesla goons will line up to hand over their money. Looks like a total joke but Musk can laugh all the way to the bank.

Is it April 1st already?

This is clearly not a production-ready vehicle. Last I knew cars need actual side mirrors and not just cameras. You also have to comply with lighting laws. I can't see how a single light-bar row will pass. I doubt they've done crash testing yet with the "super strong" body. Once they do, the shape may have to change for proper impact absorption. Those bed rails need to be straightened out so you can actually load stuff from the side of the bed. Might be a good idea to get somebody on the design team that's used a pickup truck before.

On the bright side, the Lego model will be about 12 pieces and can be built under a minute.

You call that a truck????? I just don't see that thing pulling or holding a 14000 pound load.

I know in Texas you only need 1 rear view mirror to be street legal and that can be the windshield mounted mirror. So it wouldn't be hard to get around that one. Not sure about the rest of the states.

As for lights, I don't see how one light bar would be any different than two individual lights. High beam, low beam, make sure the pattern doesn't blind anyone.

Some thoughts after thinking about it since last night.

First reaction seeing it last night was laughter.

However, after looking at it for a day and thinking about the quoted specs I’m coming around to it. The body and bed is growing on me. A coworker has an X and I was not impressed with the fit, finish, and materials. I assume the effort to lighten the weight has led to sacrifices. It was pretty rad when he summoned it with his phone and popped the doors and closed them for me.

A buddy that’s done suspension work to a couple 3’s didn’t have anything nice to say about the quality underneath either. I believe he said their suspension was cheap copies of bmw design. Or something along those lines.

A huge warranty would be a big selling point for me.

It also comes in yellow...

The truck didn't have physical holes, just cracked glass.
Good thing there is third party verification on the Dragon crewed module. Space is no place for glass failure.

The design looks like something from MineCraft. Or maybe a military truck with stealth technology?

500 mile range unloaded. Hook 10k or more behind it I bet that range gets cut in half or more. On my way to Moab only have to stop 30 times for 45 minutes while it charges back to 80%

Also consider the test area, where and under what conditions? Teslsa's cars in Colorado have a severely reduced range because of the temperature.

But the debut...it's a starting place.
