TH-350 slipping in first...mostly......

Old trucks need work. Just did a complete frame off on my dad's 77 bronco. Only thing original is the engine block, axle housings, and transfer case housing. Speedometer keeps shorting out, had a short in the front turn signal, carb was misadjusted and float bowl damaged at some point, coil had gotten cracked and was shorting, looks like the rear main seal has started to weep (probably from being installed 3 years ago and not run until recently), rear u-bolts came loose. Get the picture? There is ALWAYS something to tinker on these old trucks. Always.

But don't get discouraged. That's half the fun of these rigs is working on them. Just buy or rent tools as needed.

Older trucks need work but only of you are willing to put in the sweat an tears
I have never owned anything above an 83
I'm now 41 an retired from the Marines.
I DD an 83 with a 90 mile commute to my new job 4 days a week
Sure it makes weird noises an has its quirks.
All I've done so far is a new crate motor, an still has the stock trans/ tc combo (700r4 208 combo on 33s)
But its all mine an I showed both my kids how to drive in them.
The wife drives a 2018 acadia, so I dont worry about her commute. That an I dont have an extra 900 to spare month
Car payment=500
Ins= 110
Fuel=120
Misc expenses=100
An I dont spend that much on monthly repairs.
So I wrench on my rig an at the same time teach/help others how to.
Dont give up on the rig.
Keep the heartbeat going

Yeah, i'm not giving up. i should have mentioned the time factor; i'm a little short on time these days and have other responsibilities. It if wasn't for that, i wouldn't seriously be considering a newer rig.

i'll always be messing with cars in some form or fashion though---i'm addicted.
