TH-700 to NP205

I have a rebuilt 2WD version of the TH-700, and I am wondering is the length of the output shaft the same whether the trans is a 2WD or 4WD? Can I just remove the tailshaft housing and mate it to the NP205 via an adapter?

No, the output shaft length isn't the same for a 2WD and 4WD 700R4, and no a 2WD 700R4 won't mate to a NP205 without changing the output shaft.
