Has anyone drilled a th350 2wd slip yoke tail shaft for a fixed yoke? I can cut the yoke down so it doesn't bottom on the bushing and I can weld a stop for the bolt to rest on, I just would like to not have a slip yoke in the trans, I also don't want to swap this out because it's built and works really well. Any tips?

While I've never drilled a tranny shaft, I have drilled and tapped a 208 output just the way you are talking about for a fixed yoke and so have others. Don't see why the th350 output wouldn't work the same way.

The only issue I see and the reason why I have plans to change my setup is that under a hard load with enough power I could see the bolt pulling the threads out and coming loose. Just not enough meat to hang on to.

But on a street driven vehicle, 2wd obviously, and mild power I don't see a problem.

Something I forgot, when you do it use a good sharp drill bit and go slow. The shaft should be pretty hard to drill (hardened) but gets easier after the first little bit.

Alright.. Maybe a carrier bearing is in order to eliminate my worries, I'll explore this some more.
