I am going to have my transmission rebuilt in my '75 K5, but want to know if I should do anything more than put new seals in the NP203 transfer case while it is out. I was going to have it rebuilt too, but the shop told me that they rarely need anything more than seals.
The 203 now has a part time kit in it, but to my knowledge has never been rebuilt. The truck only has 93K miles on it, but was sitting for the better part of 10 years before I got a hold of it.

Just not wanting to remove the transfer case twice.

Thanks for any input.

I would at lesast have them open it up and have a look inside to "double check", since you have it out.

Mike, you might consider having the chain in the 203 replaced. Check it for stretching, and if you have any doubts replace it.

It's not what you buy, it's what you build!
