so lately i have been bothered in how slopy my shifter is when in gear it has shift handle movement or slop going forward or to the right which indacates its in a lower gear than what it is. i checked out the shift slector shaft and found that where the shift linkage attachs to the slector shaft is worn into a oversized hole and where the linkage piviots on a bracket just to the left of the slector shaft the bushing which is a rubber or plastic is worn right out. i have searched and searched but have not found any websites that sell these components. does anyone know where i could find this stuff?

Do you mean on the shaft between the frame rail and the transmission, or on the steering column part?

My 1985 K5 was extremely sloppy there when I first bought it. So much so that if you shifted it into low, it would bind and get stuck. All I did was find a washer that fit over the shaft tight. I then pulled the shaft our of the hole, installed the washer on it, with the spring against it, and then put it back together. The washer fit tight against the frame bracket and held it in place. Worked great and cost me nothing but time.
