th350 trans. help needed asap!

We just swapped in a 350/205 in place of a 350/208 and now have issues.

The biggest one being that the trans. doesn't shift.At all.It shifted great when pulled last year at this time,but now there is nothing.I can spin the rear yoke with the truck in all gears with the truck running and can shift the 205 into 4HI and spin it by hand and the front shaft spins.

I'm stuck on this and it's really bothering me because I sold it to the person whose truck I put it in.

We put fluid in the torque converter and the trans.before we installed it.

If it matters,the trans,came from an '80 1/2t. and went into an '85.

Was the transmission/transfer-case combo ever separated? If so, it could be somebody forgot to put the drive-sleeve in. Another problem could be that the NP205 input shaft/gear could shear at the O-ring groove. The 27 spline NP205 input shaft/gear are notorious for that problem.
If these problems check out okay, then the problem would be the transmission.
