I recently aquired a 429 attached to a th400, out of a 67 caddy, I also got a np205 out of an 80's 3/4 ton chevy, I need to put the transfer case onto the tranny and I dont really know how to go about that. Should I do it myself? or should I take it to my local tranny clinic? Any reply's would be appreciated.

The output shaft of the trans needs to come out and the proper output shaft installed (tranny has to come almost all the way apart to do this). Then you need a TH400/205 adapter as well (once again the proper adapter based on which t-case you have, figure 8 or round pattern).

4X4High is correct, and these guys can get you the right shafts and adaptors you need...

Also, chances are a Cadillac has the long tailshaft TH400, but if it happens to be a short tailshaft 2WD TH400, and you have the figure 8 style NP205 adaptor, your trans will work fine with that shaft. But most likely, you will need to swap the tailshaft in a Cadillac trans.
