I know there is tall & short versions of the 700R4/208 & SM465/208 adapters so I am lead to believe there is probably 2 versions of the TH400/208 adapter. Am I correct?

I currently have a tall adapter for the TH400/208, but I just built my new crossmember & skidplate to work with the short version 208 adapters so I want to make sure there is a Th400/208 adapter out there. Otherwise when I swap in the Th400 later I will have to modify my crossmember.

Never crawled under one, but IIRC the M1009's had TH400's and 208's, and were made at least as late as 1986, which means there should be. :)

My 84 M1009 has a tall adapter. NWF lists 400/208 short adapters in their used parts section.

I've always planned to make a crossmember that bolted rigidly to the adapter and move the mountes out to the frame rails. Using some regular round poly bushings like springs have.

I was also then going to use a plate down from the threaded holes for the support rod welded to the crossmember. That would make supporting the tcase easy with it clocked.

Yes, the 85 up TH400/208/241 had a short adapter. The exception is the CUCV's--they were all built (relatively) the same due to Military contracts requiring conformity of replacement parts. I'll have one loose in a couple months.

That would depend on what tranny was in front of it. TH400=same.
4L80E adapter would bolt up to TH400, but would not seal properly.

Cool, thanks. I was pretty sure there probably was one but I was not 100% so I thought I might as well ask. I didn't want to put up parts wanted posts for a part that didn't exist. :D
