Thankk God, she\'s runin\' COOL!!!

Wow, what a headache this has been! After changing everything in the cooling system$$$, she is FINALLY running cool. I won't make this a super long story but I want you all to be aware of this incase it ever happens to you, could save you $$$.
I went to a rad shop as a last ditch effort to see if he could run some nuclear radioactive super dooper chemical through the block cause I was sure that's what it was. The dude had me remove the t-stat and run it without it. I thought he was on crack because it was the third one in a weeks time. Anyhow, there was no coolant up in the intake minifold where the t-stat goes. We ran it with no stat and she was cool. Threw the stat back in, and presto...150 degrees with the A/C on!!!! I'm blown away, the thing must have had some air trapped in it from being open so much...just like my baby, one good belch and everything is all better!

By the way, hats off to the cap'n, I think he actually suggested the burping idea a few days ago. I thought I had all the air out, guess not!

I guess it should actually be a little warmer than 150, but I'll just shut up and color!!!!!

Hey at least you have a bunch of new parts you wont have to worry about for a while!!

Cool beans!!!! Just think, you got all new parts (no headaches for a while). Also remember to flush the system yearly to keep scale buildup to a minimum. You wouldn't believe the extended life you will get from radiators, water pumps, thermostats, and heater cores.
Glad your finally running cool.

If you didn't build it yourself, how can you call it yours.......?

I personaly was begining to think it was possed with a radiator demon and was going to suggest we perform an exorcism LOL

just a thought but maybe you should post the shops name in case anyone else in the area has a problem. I learned along time ago plug the good guys and destroy the bad guys. helps all involved,maybe even you down the road. Glad to hear its solved!!!

Congrats Bowtie... I'm glad you nailed the problem down. If I had a dollar for everytime someone said there was a problem and it was air in the system. I have become very good at refilling most motors to minimize air bubbles. You might want to look into getting a thermostat housing w/ one of the air bleeders in it from a local parts store before your next cooling system service

Buyt very glad you have a cool running truck again and no damage was done.
