That "K5" concept is back

Exactly, all the 1500s are like that. Just wait until the next redesigned 3/4 and 1 ton trucks from Ford and Dodge and I would put money on them being all auto and IFS

I hope not :doah: , oh well I'm good for the next 300k or so with my solid front axle and stick shift :D

I know GM will never have a solid front axle again. I give Ford and Dodge a ton of credit for still putting them in their trucks. I could see Ford going IFS, but Dodge has been quite loyal to them. Hell, if Dodge ever (probably never) reincarnates the Ram Charger, and it has a SFA, I'd be the first guy in line to get one.

Also everyone needs to just stop bitching about solid front axles. We will NEVER see on under a GM truck ever again. Just like how we will never see a manual transmission in a GM truck. (BTW most manufacturers are leaning that way of IFS and auto trannies) Its a sign of the times...

This statement gives me mixed feelings. I'm not sure if I should be pissed off (because it's true), or be happy because I love my old trucks.

It'd be great if the world wasn't full of panty wastes. Without them, we all could walk into the dealer and buy exactly what we want.

Agreed, everything is sold in packages now. And if you have this package you can't get this option without completely reconfiguring the whole truck. I wish I could get a spreadsheet with all the possible options and then check off exactly the ones I wanted. :deal:

Ford dropped the manual option with the 6.7. Dodge doesnt offer a manual in the 800tq 6.7 trucks either. The end is near.

Every once in a while I see a tahoe drive through town. I could swear it's a 2 door tahoe, but the new body style, with the 2003-2005 front end. It has a lift and a SAS. I believe it was burnt orange IIRC.

I think that nose is fairly easy to adapt to a 92-97 2 door Tahoe. I've seen many of the 88-98 trucks with the Escalade nose on them.

I know this is a long dead thread, but the concept K5 is still for sale. I attempted to purchase it. The reason it's stayed for sale is because it is impossible to finance without pulling from your home equity or retirement fund. So you would have to pay cash, current asking price is $22,000 and it is sold Bill of Sale Only... There is no title and it has quote "an incomplete VIN". It MAY be able to be titled and registered but that depends on your state... I never heard an answer back from mine because they kept giving me their opinion instead of the law. As for the soft top, I think they simply threw the top from te S-10 "Shark" concept on it. It's about the same size and the one on the K5 looks far too small.

In conclusion I could have bought it but for $20-25,000 you can build much cooler stuff and even buy something like a 69 Chevelle or otherwise.
