The 2005 king 4X4 Challenge will be held on 8/13/05 in Price, Utah. This is a competition designed to test as many off road abilities that we can. We are bringing back the; Mud Pit, Rock Garden, and Tug of War along with 3 new events: Log Cross, Tire Pit, and a short track Race Corse. There will be 2 clases of 4X4s with awards for each class and each event along with an overall winner to be named King in each event. Last year are 2 over all winners took home over $1000 each.

I just got back from working on the log cross and it is turnning out as good as hoped. The race track is nearly done and in good shape.

What are the rules for the two classes?

The first class is open and all you need to see is safety stuff like a roll cage or factory hard top, seat belts ext. The other class has to be street legale modifactions based on Utah state laws. things like frame height (gvwr less then 4500 = 24'' gvwr 4600-7500 = 26'' gvwr over 7500 = 28'') bumbers, fenders ext.
We are working on our clubs web site but it is not up to date yet. I can give you info here or email you the rules and registration.

Any media or video coverage? I'd love to see the event, but Utah is a little too far away.

What are seat belt ext.? (extenders?)

Thanks,

Eric M.

Last year our local ABC station coverd the show, and it looks like they will this year again, but thats only state wide. We did get make sevral web sites and some covrage on Renaissance 5's new video Enthusiast. Who know forv sure what we will get this year?

We just finnished up the Log Cross and it looks killer. We ran 4 rigs across it dry and 2 of the buggies made it, but it wont be dry for the Challenge. Now to detail the Race track.

Post up some more info. Pictures and such. Sounds like a good time. Is it held this time of year every year?
