Since I think every one has got their calenders by now I would start this thread.

I am always interested in the story behind the picture. There is always one.

So I will start. My truck is in the calender in the month of October.

The pic was taken at rocker knocker on Pritchet canyon trail in Moab at blazer bash this year. The whole day was a story really I planned on running Pritchet the day before with the BB group but changed my mind as I wanted my passenger to see a quintessential Moab trail. So we ran poison spider mesa the day the BB run was on Pritchet.

So I was going to try to get with Chaddy to go run it that never happened and through some circumstances we were eating breakfast at McDs when I get a call from Chaddy. He had driven by and said lets go run Pritchet, I said cool man.

So it was a great day running the trail. Now the passenger I mentioned before was Dave (aka 76Zimmer) who had flown in to SLC from Michigan to ride around with me. I had been driving this whole time and kind of felt bad that all Dave was going to do was ride shotgun the whole trip.

We got to rocker knocker and I hopped out and said, Dave this is yours man I have driven this a bunch so you go try it. Well with some good spotting from Chaddy, Horton went right up. I actually think I took the picture that I sent in.

So thats my truck in the picture but its not me driving. Its Dave Zimmerman (aka 76Zimmer)

Just thought it was kind of funny

So other months tell us the storys behind your pics.

I knew that wasn't you behind the wheel, but I still love the picture. It is a great shot and a really good angle.

I was out scouting/making some new trails, in my own little offroad "park"
This particular hill, I've never managed to climb without winching, and this time was no exception :o

I think the pic was taken at the same time as this video:

(I had some problems with the transfercase lever popping out of low, at that time)

Blazinzuk, you wondered if I managed to get past the dead tree.
That wasn't really my intention, as I was aiming to drive past it on the side.
But I managed to get pretty bad hung up on it anyway,
and at the same time my front drive-shaft U-joint went out,
and as luck would have it I didn't have any cable on winch at the time...:doah:

So I had to go home and get the chainsaw, to be able to get back down...:chainsaw:
The show starts at 2.30 in this clip:D

Yeah, I suck at chainsawing:o

My shot was taken on Green Day out at Area BFE on the first day of Blazer Bash 2010. It was my first time wheeling my new rig in Moab. It maybe wasn't the craziest action shot but a cool calendar shot for sure. Here is a sequence of the obstacle we went down.

I got the cover, and believe it or not I left my camera at home. It was labor day weekend and went wheeling at the Silver lake ORV park in mears, mi. It was a gloomy day till the sunset(gfs a sucker for em), and thats when the picture was taken. It was taken on the top of "test hill" the steepest dune they have. My g/fs sister ended up taking a few shots but I really didn't like em. Picture was taken with my blackbery believe it or not. It was the first time out in the new rig, other than in the back yard. I learned what I need to upgrade and beat on the old girl quite hard. I met up with blue85 and was suposed to meet up with folkenheath but he had coilover issues. Anyways I had a blast, and my truck will look different the next time I go out :)

My rig is the February centerfold. That is me steering, & my buddy John in the CJ behind me. My wife snapped the photo. We were at Superlift ORV in Hot Springs, Ark. We are at the first challenging spot on the trail Slammer. Nothing out of the ordinary that day. Just a good day of wheeling.

Here is a link to my album from all that days pics: http://s220.photobucket.com/albums/dd239/K5Boz/Trail%20Rides/Superlift%204-2and3-2010/

That was the first pic, here are the other pics from that spot in the trail in sequence:

My truck was honored by being on November. Wedding anniversary and birthday month. Do not know how Paul new that.

The picture was taken the week after the XXRA races at Ram Off Road park. If they can do it, I can too. 7000 lbs in the air can be a scary thing.

Shortly after this, the landing did not go well. Truck is normally balanced front to back. So it lands flat. This day the top was off, winch on the front and a 300 lb guy in the right seat. Nose was heavy. The following pictures shows what happened. I did drive it home.

Awesome carnage! I can't believe that 10 bolt lived for any amount of time in the air without some sort of gusseting.

Axle housing looks broken to me along with the bent tie rod. :dunno:

I do believe you are right!:waytogo:

Awesome carnage, not that often you get to see a axle tube broke out of a center section.

I am still suprised it lived through any jumps without some sort of gussetting or truss between the housing & the tubes.

6 years of jumping and no issues. Did not break anything. Bent the axle tube on drivers side. And the tie rod is 1.75dom with 1.5dom inside. Both .120 wall. Landed smooth, but when the steering wheel pulled a little, I new it was done.

What plans do you have for the replacement axle? Same but trussed or bigger axle or..?

It is already in and has hang time on it. Stock 10 bolt with a gusset. Now I figure I will break a knuckle or something.

Hey guys, August checking in :D

Just down the road from my house there is the guy that owns the land the pic was taken on, and every year he has a mud run. This year I had a truck that was actually running decent so i decided to push it a little.

When the picture was taken i had 2 passengers with me. My dad, and a friends wife. He said to take it easy with her in the truck, but she wasn't gonna have that so when I come up to the hole she said go for it and dont be slow about it either.

I have a couple video's from that day also so ill put em up too. I can't find the pic I submitted to post here tho. :doah:I'll search for it tho and edit the post.

The second video at 1:57 is when the pic was taken...

Can't underestimate how easy this made it for me and Horton....the line I thought I should take from the seat wasn't no where near where Chaddy had me going. It seemed almost non-chalante right up over that 5' rock and an undercut that swallowed the whole left front tire. Horton is amazing!

Thanks Eric.:waytogo:

June here. The month I bought my K5 in 2001 and my youngest sons birthday month :waytogo:

Pictures were taken at Walker Valley ORV park by a wheelin buddies wife. It was a rainy day so she took all of this sequence from the pass seat of his ZJ.

I had previously driven this V-notch obstacle during the summer when it was dry and the obstacle was fairly new to the park. This day was wet and muddy. I was denied at every angle I tried and have not driven it again since. I have seen a very select few rigs drive it how it is now (buggies) and they have to hit to use momentum. Its so dug out at the bottom now if you don't get your front tires over the top on your first try it sets your rear bumber on the ground and then you are done :doah:

Here is the first day I drove it. Warning photo whoring ahead :thumb:

Mr. September checking in :D

Story behind my picture......

This picture was actually the VERY FIRST TRIP this rig ever had. I had just finally finished it after a 5 year build. Took it out to Hungry Valley for a shakedown run. Some there say the day was a failure but I still claim it as a success. Sure I lost my brakes, over heated, had some loose nuts and bolts, had driveline issues....etc......but I finally got to drive the rig I've been waiting for years to drive. All and all a GREAT DAY!!

I had the honor of the back cover. For those of you wondering, it says "See you next year CK5", in Hawaiian.

Anyways, mine is definitely a poser shot for a few reasons. When we moved from Ohio to Hawaii I had to get the truck to pass the "recon" inspection which is short for reconstruction. Any vehicle with anything other than stock suspension or more than +2" of tire or wheels needs the inspection done to get tags. They mandate that you can have no more than 3" between the body and frame. Sooo, because at the time my truck had body/suspension lift and I didn't have a job yet I had to just pull what was left of the stock body mounts out and just let it sit on the pucks. So I had some wicked rubbing and was completely unable to flex at all without possibly tearing off a fender.

Second reason is that my two hobbies are trucks and cameras. So, while on a trip to the north shore on Oahu with some family that was out here visiting, I decided I wanted to grab a cool shot of the truck in Hawaii. We drove out onto La'ie point (as seen in Forgetting Sarah Marshall), and grabbed a few shots.

The truck is torn down all the way right now getting a full resto with more suspension, new motor, new one tons and all the goodies!!!:woot:

That is an awesome suspension! You do it yourself?

It's more incredible knowing you're running a 10 bolt!:eek1::eek1::eek1::waytogo::waytogo::waytogo:
