In case you may have missed the pics in my build thread, I picked up a 72 K5 that looked like it had been rattle canned several years prior and looked pretty hideous. I did a quick, and I mean quick rattle can job after I bought it, and took it from hideous to ugly, which is a good thing.

Yeah, it's pretty straight, I may take more time and do a better job down the line, just needed something quick, I couldn't stand looking at it before.

Reasons why I will probably my plasti dip my k5 next year. Peak it off then finish paint work.

Why bother? Methinks you'd hafta do a bunch of bodywork to make it worth a high-quality paint job. And it would just get scratched up again as soon as you took it out.

I think you've arrived at a good compromise of increasing the beauty level without wasting time buffing scratches after each trail run.

Got me thinking this might be an option for a couple years while I do the body work on mine. Just to keep rust at bay.

Huge improvement! Hell, with all I am dealing with in the quest to get mine painted, that seems like a better option every day.
