Almost exactly 2 years ago to the day I proudly posted the following pic:

Truck_fleet.jpg

Pictured above was my fleet. The day I took this pic, I couldn't believe how fortunate I was to own 3 awesome K-series rigs. I never could imagine life without them, especially since I'd owned the K5 for 15 years and the C10 for almost 10.

Fast forward a little bit. 8 months later I sold the 83 2WD pickup to the one and only tRusty. A couple of months later I sold the 84 K5 to a local kid in Canmore. And about an hour ago, a fine young man by the name of Byron, AKA wrench here at CK5, drove off into the sunset with the last of my fleet- my cherry 1989 V3500. I have to admit that I was a little sad, moreso than I expected, as I watched it drive away for the last time.....:frown1:

However, the look on Byron's face when he looked over the V3500 was almost payment enough. I'm so glad that it's gone to a member of the Brotherhood who will take good care of her for me.

So what the heck am I gonna do know? Well, there's this nice little 91 K5 that lives just down the road from my property out in BC..........

Umm Paul, a C10 is Umm not a K series rig. :doah: :D

Hey, there wasn't any tech in your post until i brought up the fact that a C10 is not a K series rig. Shouldn't this have been posted in the lounge. :haha:

sucks to see things you love go. I know this from my first truck :(

Now you just need to go buy that K5 ;)

I am depressed over selling my 70' Chevy but I just have to. Tomorrow the guy buying it is supossed to have the rest of the money for me. I have 1400 bucks of his as a deposit. Tomorrow he's bringing me another 550 to pay it off then it will drive off to never be seen again. :( Can Can, It's like putting a loved pet down. Your sad as hell but if you go out and get that new pup it will help lessen the pain of losing you long loved friend. Get the K5 man.

I've been calling the old 2nd Gen stuff "K-series" for years. For me, it's a model designation, regardless of whether the rig is 2WD or 4x4.......

But technically, you're right.

BTW, on the surface it might not seem like a tech post. But behind the scenes, rest assured that there were hundreds of hours of tech, and several buckets worth of blood, sweat, and tears invested in those three rigs.

Plus I can get away with posting this here. Who's gonna move it???? :rotfl:

well, I just arrived home with the last of Paul's K-trucks . . .

I was on the way home from a job in B.C. so my younger brother drove it for me as he isn't comfortable with the manual tranny in the other one yet. Every time I looked in the mirror to check on him, I couldn't help but think, "DAYUM, that's a HOT TRUCK!!!":haha:

Guess now I'll have to post pictures of my fleet . . .

I look forward to finishing up all the tiny little details that will make the V3500 a showroom truck. The only mechanical change will be a 4L80E for the overdrive, otherwise it's just details.

Thanks Paul for a real treasure

Well Paul, at least two of the three went to fellow CK5ers.

The '83 is still running like a champ BTW.

It is the beginning of the end, since I already know that you want another K-series truck. Sad to see them go, but at least two of them are with fellow brothers who will appreciate them for a long time.

Now go buy that K5, you know you want to.

DOH!

No more posting between midnight and 6am.

Can Can, time for another truck, man!
