I was sure they existed, but having never seen one I had to wonder if it was a myth. I finally spotted one at the commissary, had my buddy whip out the cameraphone. Thought I might post it up. Somebody's been doing some work, looking pretty sweet. :D

Hey man, I am stationed in Kuwait and there are tons of the long bed stepside!!!!!!! US NAVY

Yeah, I've always heard them mentioned, but hadn't been able to catch one. It's not that I don't have the eye for it either, cause I own a shortbed stepside. I could immediately tell through my peripheral vision that something was awry when we were within sight distance of this one.

Hmmm, are you absolutely sure you saw it at the commissary???:D :haha:
I do believe so. I've been known to get my facts wrong before though. :o I'm pretty sure this time though...

one is forsale in my area, man do I want it but the woman will blow a gasket. would make a great prerunner build. it is a 81 or newer front end truck too :doah:might drive by and see what he wants for it though. maybe he will be willing to trade or something.

I've seen a mid 80's K20 and also a mid 70's K20 with the long stepside bed here in town before. Both trucks are gone or junked now.

funny you post that today, i just saw one earlier today and was wondering if it was a custom job...cause i had never heard of them.

And thats one hell of a camera phone picture you've got there.....

A construction company had one, 80s 2wd 3/4 ton, and not too far from me is a 70s 4wd 3/4 ton. I've seen them around, and thought what was the point of that????? The 80s one haven't seen since, and the 70s one is still there. Contemplating talking to them and see what they are gonna do with it, just sits in the back yard. I think it's an HD, sorta looks like it has big hubs...

You still haven't built your prerunner stepside? You better snatch that thing up and get to work! :D

Yeah, I was disappointed when the only thing we had to take a picture was my friend's phone. I was pretty surprised by the pic when he e-mailed me. It's a pretty nice phone though.

how about the Gray K20 In the Movie "Pure Country" I have a Longbed stepside up at the ranch it's a 78 model K-30 with a 292 straight six Ex-airforce truck There was a Yellow LBSS k20 on the Cover of Petersons awhile back there pretty neat

I own one...

The 82 K20 in my signature has an 8' stepside bed.:D ...many folks here consider an 8' stepside butt ugly, yet the 6' ones are highly desireable, and also scarce now..
I like the looks of mine, but the bed IS a bit dinky as far as capacity--even though its 8' long,a toolbox that takes up 2' up front makes for a pretty short narrow cargo area..my fleetside 79 C10 holds 2-3 times as much, but isn't as stylish in my opinion..

Yeah, I've got a shortbed stepside with a toolbox. Not the best for big loads. Used to bother me when it was my only fullsize, but now I have my 1-tons for hauling crap around.

I've seen one yellow/black one parked next to my work, and it really is butt ugly truck! Maybe it's the painting, but still wouldn't want to have long stepside.

Since we are on the subject of rare chevies, how many people have seen an 80's body extended cab? Not a crew, not a single, an extended cab? I've seen two in my life. The first was super clean and I figured it might be a custom job but the second one was beat to hell so I figued GM must have offered them.

I think I've seen a lot of those, unless I'm just crazy. One I picture in my mind, has the classic 80's GM paint peel. Probably one I've seen around town. I want to say it was light blue, unless I'm just imagining it.
