Well, as some of you may have seen I picked up an 83 k10 4 speed, in very very rough shape (It was a birthday present to myself and I'm sick of playing xbox while I wait to ship my jimmy out). it was relatively cheap, I now have a much better idea how to do things and I actually have extra money.I plan to get it back into road legal condition before I make any other big changes, so to get my thoughts in order, here is what I need/intend to do for now

1)install new column (old one has the ignition broken out of it and a new one came with the truck)
2) install new cluster(old one is smashed up, though the bezel is actually ok
3) unfu...fix the behind the dash wiring (its been owned by kids for a long time)
4) new hd clutch and flywheel (adjuster is at its limits, and flywheel doesnt cost much extra)
5)front drive shaft( its whole, but the kid took it out in the mud one last time, and now it is hanging on by 2 bolts, resting on the cross-member compared to when I looked at it
6) the rear shocks are completely unhooked, I haven't checked the mounts out yet
7)the front grille and turn signal housings are smashed, I'm thinking a pierced steel planking front grill if I can find a good way to mount it and make it look clean.
8) only the head lights work, I need to troubleshoot them, hopefully it will be something I find in the cab
9) parking brake cable is broken
10) brakes
11) the door pins and bushings are VERY bad
12) rebuild/reseal the tcase (if just the rear seal is leaking I will simply replace it, if I have to split the case I will rebuild it)

The problem I've had in the past is trying to do to much at once, so i am going to go after 1 or 2 problems at a time, focusing on drivability issues

GM white spokes. Nice. You need the center caps for the rear.

Yessir, it'll be on the list.

I got a tilt column installed, put 2 clusters together and got one good one (if the 100 mph speedo is a direct swap for the 85), figure out that he took out the high low switch and twisted the power and high beams together, same thing with the clutch safety switch.

I also got the left turn signals, tail lights, brake lights, and left parking light working, the right turn signal will come on solid and thats it...back to work

Need some more pics and specs of this beaut.

I keep getting distracted by doing work AJ! i have a few on my camera that I will try to get up.

Got all the lights working, still nogo on the speedo so I will be using the gps for a while until I figure it out.

I looked at the clutch again and noticed that the kid had a lock nut on the lock nut, so I now have a clutch that feels pretty good.

Next on deck is a power steering pump (I thing I have one buried some where), wheel bearing adjusted or replaced depending, and a new windsheild at the cheapest place I can find, then it will be driveable.

I also noticed that the rear shock mounts are wallowed pretty bad, time to do some research for repairs...
