The future of Blazer Bash. More bull crap.

This blows. As much as I love the area it makes me want to not spend a penny in town if at all. Grand Junction is one hell of an alternative. Sand Hollow seems to be way more receptive to 4wd events too.

Anybody speak to the guy running Full-size invasion so see if this Moab political crap is part of the reason they moved to Sand Hollow?
Jerard Jones runs full size invasion. Former magazine guy.

He has annual permits to run his tour and rental business. He is running Full Size Invasion the week after BB.

I gave him some help getting that event going as far as lessons learned permitting Blazer Bash, but I don't have contact info for him anymore.

Every one of us needs to write the the chambers of commerce in that county and explain to them how you are going to avoid at all cost spending money in their town, that you have been attending an annual event for the last 2 decades plus, but because of the county exorbitant fees and permits, the event will be moved.
The country commission won't give a rats ass about us. The local business people will take notice and they will give their brother/sister in-law(LDS) a what for.
It works.

I agree with the sentiment but the reality is Moab is not big enough to deal with the crowds anymore. They don't want your money. There are not enough hotels restaurants or anything else. It's not just 4 wheeling, it's all the recreation, the river, the 2 national parks, it all puts too many people in a small town.

I will be honest with everyone, this has really knocked the diesel smoke out of sails. The steam out of my I.C.E. or something like that.

I can not get motivated to work on the truck for Power Tour now.

This sucks.

Not just Moab, the whole fricken county. I will even go as far researching the company's in Grand county and not do business/divest from them. No gas stops, no restaurants, no artist shops nothing.
Had to do this to Victorville, and there stupid red light cameras, out of state company using to generate income with illegal speed traps. It worked. I was near Victorville more and I wasn't the only person who was up set. When you tell a business owner that you shop in their establishment and are willing to drive extra miles not to they get upset.

I will be writing take me a couple days to draft a civil letter probably 3 or 4 drafts

We might not get the permit for this year, or we may. We will find out

Don’t loose motivation for power tour or even BB, it will be a great event no matter where it’s at or what happens along the way (I know that’s hollow coming from someone that doesn’t have to plan the thing) but I’ve gone through this shit planning smaller events and they always work out….

What socks about this is, she has to take our permit in front of the commissioners at an official meeting to get it approved. They can say no.

We don't need no stinking permits. Some one just post up " Hey, I'm going to be in Moab on such and such dates. Anyone want to join me?" Then we do what we want.

They will approve the permit. Blazer bash doesn't cause problems, is pretty small compared to other events. Correct me if I am wrong but after jeep safari canceled for COVID blazer bash may be longest continuous event. Think I read that here somewhere.
