Although the old garage was schite, she has at least been able to keep hers out of the weather enough to avoid things like window scraping. I'm not trying to fool anybody, this garage is all about what I want.

Yeah, it's a great luxury being able to build a garage that's really for parking - and you can keep it nice - since you already have a full shop for the dirty work.

832sf..? How deep for your stall..? We found out building my uncle's that the normal 24' everyone goes with leaves a lot to be desired. He has a quad cab Dakota and by the time he gets in far enough to clear the door comfortably there's not as much room as you'd think to get around the front. Just feels cramped
my garage is 24 wide and wanna say 32 deep and sucks with all my projects and tools in there. We never park anything in there besides K5, 67 C10 and Chevelle but moved that to a buddys for few months as I need to get to work but to tired from work and kids.
Yesterday I spend the majority of the day tearing out the old concrete. Most of it came out without to much of a fight. The Garage pad itself had some footings and some wire reinforcement that was primarily stuck to the bottom of the concrete. The skid loader made short work of the majority of it. Lots of trips with the dump trailer to get rid of it all.
Saved some of the rock that was in the driveway for the landscaping around the new garage.
Hopefully the contractor will start setting things up on Monday. Hope to have new concrete photos added to the thread by the weekend.
I have a 24x24 attached wish I had 4 more feet of depth. Parking my dmax leaves very little room. That's an extended cab short bed too.
I would have liked to have gone deeper than a 26' however, any bigger than that and some problems arise. First of which, getting into the garage is already a tight turn, going further would make that even worse. Secondly, bigger than 26' and I'd have to get a variance for the building permit. The town building committee and town fathers and I don't get along the greatest. I'm pretty sure they would have submarined that plan. Third part is, currently I only have two vehicles to park inside. That leaves me the third bay for things like projects or lawn mowers and snow blowers and what not. Eventually I see my Camaro making its way here. It doesn't take up much room length wise currently.
At any rate, this garage will be a vast improvement over what I've had at any other point in my life. I'm very stoked about it! I can't wait to see some of the crete being poured.

26 should be OK.. That's how deep mine is. And I can get my burb in there with the door shut and a 4' platform to stand on infront of it... It's when you get down to 2' or so to get around the front that it starts the suck lol. They have heavy duty aluminum extension versions of the old pulldown attic steps now. Full 3?" Wide ones that can reach 10' ceilings too. Might be just the thing for your usable attic storage
I guess building the garage at an angle wasn't an option? Here in Edmonton probably 50% or more garages here are detached, and I see a fair number built at an angle so it's easier to get into them with a car.

Yes it was! Concrete guys were on fire to get this job going. Weather was really right for the job as well.
Gas line has been moved as well. That was under the garage slab. The utility guys showed up the other day and moved it right next to the fence to keep everything legal.
Now, its on me I guess. I need to get to the store that I got the garage "kit" quote from and start picking up some 2x4's and get some framing going.
