The Green Grendel

I wish I knew what to tell you! Kick it!!!!
And @GWeakland620 you need to change your avatar back! Lol

I'm thinking of changing mine as well. I now have a neat set of foresty pictures that are more reflective of my driving patterns.

By that logic, Greg's picture of his truck sitting the driveway is a very representative picture. :wink1: :pimp:

If you don't like Blazers much you could just put the NV4500 in the seat and haul it down here to me this weekend :deal:. I'm sure I'd give t a very loving home

If you pony up the $1200-$2000 dollars you've been talking about, its yours (I'm willing to hunt for another one, I'd rather have the true 5-speed NV3500 anyways). I'm leaving da woods in a few minutes and can deliver it to Mount Pleasant on Saturday. Place your order now.

If I hadn't just sank money into new tires for the F250 and a hoard of new crap for the 78 I'd be on that! But for now I just have to harass you more

Campy, pull that pilot out if you dont have some calipers to check the size.....

With the clutch removed the tranny fits neatly into place. No pilot bearing interference at that point. I deduce that the issue must be alignment between disc and pilot. Maybe I suck at aligning them. :dunno:

Get it yet?

The tranny? No, I'm back in the land of cornfields for the holiday weekend. Today's project is a rear main seal on a 4.0L Ford Ranger (not mine). Replacing said seal requires removal of transmission, clutch, and flywheel. Reinstallation requires aligning the clutch. I'm irrevocably doomed. :doah: :doah:

On the plus side, I have better tools, a concrete floor, a tranny jack, and even my younger brother's helping hand. Plus the 2WD, aluminum-case M5OD-R1 looks like it's oodles lighter than the NV4500. So it should be a much smoother job. But I'm still doomed. :1zhelp:

Movin' on up!

David

Naw, working on someone else's truck in someone else's garage isn't really a promotion.

I fired up the truck, pulled it into the garage, and crawled under it while it was running. Oil was steadily pouring out...of the side of the oil filter. :doah: :doah:

So rather than spending my day dropping a tranny, I changed the oil filter. Oil drip eliminated.

Oh well, I almost got some tranny practice in today.

I'll let ya know tomorrow when I do mine:D

RACE!

Actually, I probably won't make it out there tomorrow. So hopefully you beat me. :D

Ok, Eric, we both suck at this whole racing thing. Have you touched your truck recently? You guys following this thread know about how often I work on this thing. A couple of hours a every few weeks, not really enough for me to remember what I'm doing. When camping season is over I think that might change, but for now it just hasta wait.

I'm guessing your truck is a similar story?
