The Green Machine - parked

Judging by these responses the answer is no

I'm serious. Trust me, it is incredibly painful to even think of selling my pride and joy, but it may come to that point.

So I’ll throw this at you. The truck has issues right? Trans slipping, glitter in the t-case, clunking in the rear diff are the big highlights I caught.

Can you get max value for it in that condition? To get the top dollar fixing those things are going to need to be done. Which obviously is going to have cost involved with it.

So the choice comes to take a bath on the truck and sell it under what it’s true value is, invest funds back into it to address the issues and get the value back to where it should be or continue to sit on it.

I threw the last one in for the fact the truck isn’t costing you anything if you took the insurance off of it. Sit on it and save it for better days.

I get it if you need the money to survive. It sucks but you if you need to it’s the right thing. Don’t take our response to keep it as a bad thing. Most of us are sentimental nitwits and can see the time and effort you’ve put into it and would know how much it would suck to let go if it was ours.

If it's not costing you anything and you would enjoy driving it again if things were fixed... Sit on it till you're ready to do some work on it.

The used market has dropped form what it was a year or so ago when stuff was bringing crazy money….like Rob said with the issues it has I don’t think you’ll get what you should out of it, I’d sit on it. In my own twisted mind I’d rather have something and know I have it even if I can’t use it now than to know I had it and let it get away.

I've got my '69 Nova stashed under those specific reasons. There have been times I could have used the money to keep the household budget going, but I managed to work the problem from another angle and keep the car.

I look forward to getting back to it as soon as I've started collecting and stashing parts for it.

My son sold his 01 Duramax it needed head gaskets and we were going to let it sit till he was done ag tech school. Well he decided to sell it cheap because he needed the cash.
He still regrets selling it and hes still broke. The money goes fast, the time and effort to get the truck to where it was is all lost too. A lot of new parts and time fixing all the rust let alone he bought it when he was 12 and we fixed it together. All the memories went down the road. :doah:

I know how much time and memories you have invested. You know what’s best for you but…

If you do decide to sell give the guys on Ck5 a chance at it.

This right here. If you have to sell it, you have to, but with the issues it has and the amount of custom work done it will either likely need the right buyer (those are hard to find) or most likely sell for pennies on the dollar.

To give you my opinion i need a few details.
Is this truck pretty much stock and if you sell it you can get another later or did you do some custom work that will cost you a lot to replicate?
I am assuming you only have this one project and you are thinking of getting rid of it.
I have about 22 projects and I will never get to all of them so I am very slowly thinning the heard but I am getting rid of high value classics that would be getting me a lot of money or regular vehicles that I can buy anytime.
It's your life but that is my opinion

It's got a one ton solid axle conversion front ARB bumper and a custom built rear bumper...

Thanks for the input guys, I really do appreciate it. Definitely a bunch of stuff to consider in selling it, if I do

Clean title?

I remember a front end collision with airbag deployment, but don’t remember if it got reported.

Had to move the Yukon from it's resting spot in the garage to put up Christmas lights. Fired right up after sitting for two months. I used it as my way of accessing the roof of my house. I can't sell this thing, not only will I get squat for it because of all its issues, it'd kill me to do so.

See, she still loves you…
