The headache build..

not to hijack but how do you like it... ive got a 496 thats around the same hp as yours and im dieing to drive the damn truck... jw what you think of it... ohh i got an 83 k30 on 42s
It is a thrill. Of course it is a little thirsty which a major bummer when fuel skyrocketed to the moon last summer (and creeping back up:doah:). With 1 ton drive train, you should be able to drive for while before something blows up. Unlike me, which was blowing up ½ ton drive train parts left and right. I hardly had time to really play with my blazer till last summer. I should be out side working on my blazer right now so I can play with it again.
Hopefully I have pictures of the header installed tomorrow.

I add text later. now for the vidios.

Looks like fun as usual... my truck didn't get hammered too bad last weekend up in the mountains so I'll try to get over there in the next month or so for a weekend.
Any specs on the long-bed truck in the vids?

Ya getting some..Are you running paddles i snaned over the thread but did not see any?

Did you see a blue 4 door short bed crew cab this past weekend.

Yeah, my brother had some 16" paddles for jeep. I bought some used rims last year and mounted his paddles on the rims. I'm still spinning the tire hard though. We drove by a camp with a 4 door short bed. Didn't get a close look at it.
It was a busy weekend. I worked a half day friday, then worked on the blazer, worked on the blazer sat moring, got the blazer running about noon, took the blazer to burn out by a buddy's house, loaded the blazer on a trailer, took the blazer to camp, unloaded the blazer, got dressed, jumped in my brothers truck, went to a wedding in Santa Margrita, came back to camp, jumped in the blazer to go to the hill, get lost, climbed a dune, didn't let off and end up nose diving the blazer and bending my frame worse, and then made it to Comp hill and continued to race. (**** the bent frame-we're here to race, we will just get in and out the passenger door since the drivers door won't open anymore.)

hmmm? i don't think i posted any vids with a long bed. That gray truck is a guy named karlin but its a short bed. We've got to know his truck pretty well. It has a 498 bbc making about 600hp, a sf 14bt and dana44 with 4.10 gears , a t350, and np205.

I was talking about the truck in the middle of the second video on post 123... it hooked up pretty well is the only reason I was asking. :D

That is Brandon's truck and it is short bed also. He has a 468 on nitrous (for now, the motor belongs to somebody else.) TH350, NP205, and 1/2 ton axles. That was the only race where he beat me this weekend because he was useing the bottle. I be even faster when I hook up my nitrous, but that is for a later date. Too bad, I've heard Brandon is pulling the motor to give it back to it owner after this weekend. I would like a rematch where we both are using the bottle.

Those are some sweet rooster tails... I just moved up to Humboldt this year from SLO, we used to go to Pismo quite a bit, but I'd just kick around in my tacoma hoping I wouldn't mess up my DD. I'll have to go through and read the build thread when I have time, but that's a sweet blazer you've got there.

I'm sure you've mentioned it, but i'm too lazy to look... what kind of numbers are you putting out? Looks like it has some get up and go. :waytogo:

On the dyno, the motor on the small carb alone made a max of 674hp. That is the set up I ran last weekend.
I post dyno vids later, for now here are some pictures.

The distance where my brother and nephew is standing is how far the blazer flew saturday night when it landed on it's nose.

Here are some pictures of the motor going together.
We stuck the tunnel ram on there for laughs.

Liking the headers....

The tunnel ram might actually not be a bad idea.... rpms are your friend in the sand. High stall converter and your good.

What are your plans for fixing the frame?

Might be better off just chopping the frame right behind the furthest bend and weld a new one in with some beefy fish plates. If you do the z pattern cut it'll be stronger then stock.
