The headache build..

After last month's race, we changed the the gearing back and the tires.
We then went to Avenal sand drags mid April and went slower in testing. As I about to go run my first qualification run, the motor started missing. Worst, there was a ticking noise, so we loaded up the blazer and headed home.
The problem was a broken valve spring on number 4, a broken rocker adjuster on number 2 and the rocker arms was hitting on the valve cover.
After fixing the valve-train, we changed the torque converter since we suspected it was holding us back because we have been adding more power and not going any faster.

congrats on the 3s. So I am curious, do you see a lot of difference just based on how wet or packed the sand is? Or do they keep it pretty consistent?
 
There is a difference between a wet and dry track. I wasn't seeing it for the last year due to the torque converter.
I kept running a 4.1 to a 4.0.
 
I don't know what I did the first time but I can't post another video from facebook.

The problem is I didn't take the videos, heck I can't download to my phone.
 
Not much is going except after two seasons of hard use, the motor is apart to be freshen up. The parts list is more than most people into their entire motor.
I'm glad I finally got the credit card debt monkey off my back at the beginning of the year, and concentrate on saving money for the rebuild.
Anyway, my nephew/tuner uploaded on cell phone videos onto my laptop. I finally upload some to youtube the other night.
