Newest Acquisition. 1990 1500 Suburban 350tbi/700r4/208. 6" Springs and 31" tires!

Trade a 96 explorer sport 5spd 4x2 for it.

Needs an ac line replaced. Needs shocks. Needs steering fixed from the lift. Getting a waterpump and fuel level sender tonight, and hopefully the high idle fixed.

35's would look nice on it.

35s are too small for 6". my last truck had worn ass out springs, no lift and 33s with no rub... actually considering swapping this brand new superlift setup for some 4" springs, and a set of 57s with a flip...

started the waterpump this evening and it started pouring... tomorrow then.. will be picking up a throttle body base gasket tomorrow to fix the high idle, and a fuel sending unit for the gas gauge issue, and resetting the TV cable.. she should be a runnin sob then... next up, ac work

I have superlift 6" springs with 35s and they rub off road.

I am sure I could cruise the streets with 38s without much problem.

35s would be lost under this thing... too many trucks running around with too much lift and 35s, not into that new school "my truck is big but my tires are my sisters" look.

6" springs don't flex anyhow. This is florida. No rocks to climb. If I wanted a flexy truck, I'd drop it to 4" with 63s and a flip in the rear, and run 36s, and they wouldn't rub then either. the right offset on a set of wheels does wonders.

Hmm.. TBI gasket done, let me tell ya, when you think the bolts are tight and you don't want to pull the threads out of the intake, you're wrong... fired it up and it idled high, and had to retorque them as it was idling to get the idle down lol. Waterpump done. Have to repair the overflow tank, when i filled it, it drained itself. After I get the t-case repaired this afternoon, i'm going to attempt the sending unit. How the heck do I get the tank dropped? Looks like the nuts are at the top of the tank? Under the carpet? Good excuse to pull it out and pressure wash it?

You gotta,l pull the filler tube, then tank straps, then fuel lines and fuel pump connector.

While you're dropping.
Try and run it down, and heck maybe even throw a fuel pump in there. Have someone help, it may be a little easier

im trying to figure out how to get to the bolts, do they really go in from the top? it has a skid plate under the tank.. just doing a sender for now. might cut a hole in the rear floor and build an access panel. Eventually the rear will have a 12v fridge in it, and a toolbox, all mounted, so maybe an access panel is a good idea..

Skid has to drop first then the straps are unbolted behind the bumper.
An access panel is a good idea and some did just that.

Just so you know, my '90 Suburban has 4" lift and 35" BFG's rubbed on the backs of the front fenders while just driving through a washout in the pasture. I have 6" springs on my crew cab (which was a Suburban) and 35's rubbed on it under full flex with no front sway bar.

Your '90 should have a 241, not a 208 unless it's been swapped out.

35's still rub with 6" of lift. It's a fact. 38's would rub a hell of a lot.
