The life, death, and rebirth of my K5 Build.

Although I have almost everything i'd need for the swap, I think i'm gonna try and leave this truck as stockish as possible. hah

I cant deside if you got the better deal or if i did. I bought my 97 from my work for $1000 its more than you paid but it is almost 10 years newer too. Though i havent got around to fixing my 4wd either so it may end up alot more than i thought.

Nice truck, good score!

Well, how about a little update shall we? Got my stock 10 bolts with the 3.08s out from under the blazer, quick 150 bucks hah, So my question is, I'm looking to net around 8" of suspension lift, I already have 4" springs all around, so my plan was to go with some 8" lift springs up front, and run a 4" shackle flip in back, does anyone think this is a bad idea? Also, would I be better off with the DIY4x kit with 4.5 shackles for 195 or the ord kit for 189? I figured i'd be fine doing it with the 4" springs and flip? Expect updates very soon! I'll post up some pics later!

Wow, Guess i've been slacking in the updates. My 85 is dead, My frame was bent beyond repair, so I have to start over. But its for the better of the build, so what can you do? So this is where it turns interesting. Once I get my frame. The build begins, I guess in the end i'll have a brand new truck. This will take me atleast 3 years give or take. But it will all be worth it in the end. Here is the basic idea of what I will be building.

K5 Frame 73 K5 body, Or Truck cab.
Buick 455 Supercharged
SM465 and doubler
12 inch front springs
8 inch rear springs, 4 inch shackle flip
2 inch body lift
44 inch TSL'S
Sliders, bumpers, the works.
Dana 60 front, 5.13's
Van 14bff 5.13's, locker.
H1 beadlocks, or custom beadlocks
And much more!

Nothing will stop me from building this truck. It is my goal, and I hope everyone enjoys the build as much as I will building it! I'll be picking up some key parts soon, so expect pics soon! Thanks to everyone who has given their opinion and positive comments, if you have any ideas or opinions please feel free to share! untill the next update. :saweet:
