The new Blazer has arrived - pics!

Could just be bad vacuum lines under the dash...I replaced all mine a couple of years ago and everything works fine now.
I briefly looked at the lines and they all look great. I will double check them though.

Can you tell me about that red clip? What is that called and where can I get it?

There are some small vacuum lines on the back of the control switch too...I replaced all of those too.

Do you have a round vacuum canister on the firewall on the passenger side? It holds vacuum to help with the vacuum operated controls. I've seen those missing before, or the vacuum line to it, or from it, having cracks.

True. I think I will just take mine out and glue it together. It looks like it's in pretty good shape. 5 minute epoxy should do the job!

I thought about it, but to replace the cable means pulling the dash cluster, the HVAC controls, and then swapping it out. Glue is as simple as removing that one bolt, gluing it, and putting it back on. I'm going to try the cheapskate way first! :D

Ok, so can someone help out a little? Here's the view from under the dash, through the glove box. In the back the red retaining clip is broken. Where can I get a new one?

The other mechanism in the front operates properly, but the controls do not make it move so it just sits in the middle. What would cause that? A worn out vacuum actuator? If so, where can I find that?

On the plus side, I just moved the rear cable all the way and now I have nice toasty heat! Yay!

have you checked the door hiding under the plenum thing in front of those 2. the plastic piece in there might be broken too. 3 bolts take off the part and you can see inside there. i just had to order 5 of the fukkin things from my nearest dealer. they don't stock them anymore, only come in bags of 5 and they wouldn't order them otherwise.

I have not gotten that far yet, but thanks for the tip. Right now I am just glad to have heat and am focusing on getting it to pass state inspection. I found out my reverse lights are not turning on because the switch is out of adjustment. I'm about to do a search to figure out how to fix that... :D

ok cool....i should have my 5 frikkin pieces on monday or tuesday. if you find you need the part i'll mail one to you, let me know. good luck with the lights........

actually Muddytaz mentioned this first

That's very kind of you, thanks for the offer! I'll pull that cover off next time I am out there (this weekend?) and let you know if I need one or not.

Shovel, I might talk to you on that.

Been a while but I need to remember/figure out what was broken on mine.

sure thing AJM, just let me know. my truck wouldn't feel right if her evil twin's heater don't work right......

i don't know the name of that part either, but the part number/description on the receipt is "3018715 connector 9.786"

I'll let you know. It was over a year ago when we did the heater core and all I remember is a plastic piece of the door was broken. I was putting the inner fender in so I looked over, grunted, and kept turning bolts.
