The new Garage

I'm tired of working in my tiny 2 car garage so I'm finally building a big (30'x60') shop to work in.
There's going to be another driveway in the back for that!

Just make sure there is enough room to get said project through the garage.

It amazes me how many people stuff a place like that full then can not do anything. If I have to move one car to work on something else, it bugs me.

We finally finished all the repainting, what a pain. Here's how it looks now!

Hopefully I get some good news back from my GC so we can start working on the plumbing and electrical this weekend. I also need to start looking into getting the back driveway poured and finish up a few other minor things that should be OK for me to work on. There's so much work to do, it's hard to figure out where to start. If all else fails I can just go buy some insulation for the attic and start throwing that in.

OK, I'm not sure what's going on but my pictures aren't showing up. If I edit the post, they're all there, but when viewing the post it's just red Xs...

I'll upload them to CK5 in a second, not sure why the IMG links aren't working, they are in the older posts.

Good news! The garage passed the final inspection! On top of that, the weather is supposed to be perfect this weekend (highs in the low 80s)!
I'm going to do some planning tonight to see if I can knock out the vast majority of the attic work on what is likely to be the last sub 100°F weekend for a few months.

Hopefully I can figure out what I need to pick up from Lowe's and get all the shopping done tomorrow for an early start Saturday.

I'm thinking the easiest way for me to access the attic is going to be utilizing my motorhome as a platform and park it under the access hatch in the ceiling, so I need to go pick that up from my buddies house tonight and finally see if I can get it into the garage without hitting the house or the stub wall...

I can't wait until they install the doors so I can start moving stuff in! I want to stop paying for my storage locker and get that stuff moved back...

nice that you can park it inside and still get all the way through the garage.

We spent the weekend running cables and plumbing in the attic. We got quite a bit done, probably 95% of the attic work outside of insulation.

Nothing too exciting for pictures yet, just extra holes in the wall and ceiling for boxes and to route the cables.

Just a minor update, before I moved the RV out for the door install tomorrow (fingers crossed), I snapped a picture. You can see some of the holes I cut and wires hanging about and a dirty floor from all the work last weekend.

Hopefully this weekend we start throwing some insulation and drywall up so we can finish up things like the sink and toilet and install the garage door openers.
