NICE!
A lift is something I had planned to get long ago,but just erecting the garage and getting a slab poured took 100% of my funds back in 1992 ,and ever since I've wished I had done it then, when they were cheaper.
I still dont have the garage oficially "wired" either, all these years I've gotten by using an extension cord from the house garage 30 feet away..no 220V though, only in the house garage,or I have to use the clothes dryer outlet even further away ,when I need to use a welder..
Wiring it for 220V will cost at least $1000...
I've had a few chances to get a used lift cheap, and shouldn't have passed on them--one was an 11,000 lb alignment lift with the drive on ramps and two rolling air jacks--my friend's old shop had been sold by the owner and the new owner wanted everything "out",he was going to buy all new equipment...another customer of my friend heard about it first and got it for $100!..and he never even put it in his garage,it sat outside for years till it was junk..
My friend upgraded to a newer Rotary lift about 2 years ago,the one at the shop he rents now was a well worn "Global" brand p-o-s that nearly killed him a few times, and when it needed parts it was a chore to track down the cables and a lift chain it needed--I could have got that one cheap, but he told me he liked me too much to let me get it..said he didn't want to go to my funeral..
He paid a local company that deals in new & used lifts $2500 installed, for the used Rotary lift, which was still like new,a landscaping company had bought it new from the company ,but they never did use it that much and decided to just send their vehicles out to be repaired instead of trying to be their own mechanics..its a 9000 lb two post type lift..
I am tempted to get one myself, once you hit 45-50 years of age, working on a vehicle sucks if you don't have a lift..
But the money I've saved up was intended to be used towards getting the rest of the roof replaced on the house, which may need doing in the next few years--..the slab in my garage might not be thick enough to bolt a lift too ,so that is another expense I might have to have done if I get one..(Like you had to do to install yours)..
But now I've heard about a one owner 2002 GMC 4x4 a customer of my friend has for sale,he bought a new truck and the dealer only offered him $1000 on a trade in..friend has serviced it since 2005 or so,it isn't mint, but decent, and has just had a new fuel pump, brakes, water pump, etc all done recently,2 new front tires...5.3 LS motor, automatic, only has 173.000 miles on it..interior is like new too,and the only rot underneath is one spot on the rear shock cross member..I may just go for it if its still available,he said I might be able to talk him down to $1500-$1800...
My vehicles would be in much better state of repair if I had a lift..and so would my back & legs..
