The new shop. Progress.

LOVE my 42" barn fan . its behind me now blowing on me .

that place has a lot of potential for sure . i could see it a lot brighter just by white washing the walls and ceiling . but i am sure this is already on your to do list .

This place became small yesterday as we unloaded the semi trailer.

Today we are cleaning the back storage room, was used as an office. We are headed to Lowes after lunch for a sprayer and bucket loads of kilz and paint.

Old electrical panel has to be replaced. Head drop needs to be extended down. New meter box with a kill switch and a new panel inside.

Its Insane how fast a place gets small. My 1950sq ft shop got small fast going from a 2 car garage and a Huge back yard and two 20’ shipping containers. Those got sold, and moving into a 2 story building with 16’and 16K sq ft building is getting crowed and small fast! My buds shop is over 8 times bigger then mine was too!!! And were out growing it and fast. My buddy wants the building next door, but owners are Disgustingly FILTHY rich. No business is there, vacant building, been empty for years. He’s contacted them trying to buy it. They’re just not interested in selling right now. Its a Massive shop building. I think larger then his. He’s got business plans for both. But may end up with a different building if this doesn’t go like he wants.

You could rent the office/restroom out to me. I'd guard your belongings and wouldn't require much space at all! JK, but I've looked for property with the same setup to do just that...not kidding!

I’m gonna do my best to get my dream shop built before I die. Not a New goal, but a Big long time goal. I have faith in my will power. And I don’t want to start it without Finishing it. So baring I don’t die from this BS, you guys can plan on seeing a building/shop build at somepoint in my remaining life here. I Just need a down, but my SS can handle a mortgage payment already.

The Only thing holding me back is my stupid ass health :angry1::angry1::angry1:

Temperature control is a big thing with a shop. When I had a shop with no central AC or heat I used a wall unit AC in the small office area as a place to go cool down for a minute before I went back into my shop to work. I got one of those turbo kerosene heaters for the winter. I payed about $150 for it. I just pointed it at my work area and it worked fine. I now have a shop with central HVAC, and it makes a world of difference on how much work I can get done any day I want to.

Those torpedo heaters eventually kill you,you might as well run a diesel engine in an enclosed shop if your going to run one of those 8 hours a day to keep warm..unvented heaters are bad news if used more than on a temporary basis..

Many of the guys who were customers at the parts stores are now dead or in very poor health ,and the fact they relied on those portable heaters for warmth in their shops is probably a big factor in their condition..many died of emphasema and respiratory illnesses..

Installing a "real" furnace & heating system might be costly at first, but pays off in the long run..and A/C might be costly, but the comfort level it provides makes for better working conditions and you can get more done, without feeling as "beat" at the end of the day..

Wade Jr and I were busting tail getting stuff done. Then he headed back to South Korea this morning. I miss hanging out with him.

We painted the storage room so we could get his Lego collection on the shelf. At 2:30 yesterday we decided the shelf support was not adequate. Added a 2x6 ledger and kickers. Then loaded said Lego collection. Yes, all of those boxes are legos.

I mowed again today. Seems like a weekly thing here.:doah:

Started my first set of shelves and emptied one box. On a roll now.

I stand around wondering where to start more than anything. I hate being unorganized.

We also stripped the old meter box and panel out. New head drop ran. Installed a new meter box with breaker shut off outside and a new panel inside. Sucks working in block, but it will be there forever.

whos the electric company if its associated with cemc next year you can talk to them about budget billing they average the bill over a year then adjust a little each month
