I ran into Seattle to snag this one today.

1992 Chevy S10 Blazer w/ 4.3L and a 5 speed. Overall it is not bad for 190K miles. I'll have to get a starter and shocks right away, and tires soon after. Driver seat needs new foam, and little stuff needing attention all over.

I like it. I'm on the hunt for those wheels for my ZR2 S10. I just like the look better.

I love that era S10. Had a couple '91s both had the 4cyl/5 speed combo. No a/c no power steering. Always wanted to do a V8 swap one. I really like the blazers but never did end up with one.

Cool spec with no a/c and a 5 spd. I've only seen a few four doors with the stick in the wild ever. I've owned my 93 four-door for 13 years now, still going strong.
Oh and the starter is a super tight fit, it may induce a few cuss words

Just ordered new shocks, u-joints, tune-up, and belt drive parts. Most of that should be here by Friday so I can start going through things this weekend. This thing has a growl at 45+ mph. Could be u-joints or wheel bearings.

I found another, just north of me, being parted out. Unfortunately, the seller doesn't respond to messages.

I was able to pull it into the shop tonight and begin inspections. Brakes are good but I went ahead and cleaned them. Muffler and tailpipe are shot. At least one tie rod worn out. I'll leaking all over. Nothing too exciting for 190K.

I also pulled the spare tire carrier. It is an aftermarket unit with design flaws in how it mounts, but some new hardware and an extra couple tack welds makes it solid again. I just don't like it has to be pulled to change a taillight.

New shocks, new belt/ tensioner/ idle pulley, full tune-up, swapped in a good used distributor due to corrosion in the old one...

I'm also waiting on a starter and harmonic balancer to arrive. I found the timing was looking 15 degrees retarded where the motor wants to run, likely an old balancer that spun on the hub as the rubber looks cracked. I'm fairly sure I unplugged the correct connector to set timing.

Today, I was able to get new tires mounted on the rear to match the two front tires that are about a year old. I also tested the 4x4 system, you can guess how well that worked... Likely the vacuum disconnect in the front axle that has failed so it will get a cable actuator to be sure it locks in when needed.

I was able to get this back in the shop tonight. Did further troubleshooting on the front axle. The vacuum actuator actually works but I can hear something inside the axle like teeth clicking as they don't fully engage while turning. The noise goes away with vacuum removed. So I've capped the vacuum to the system for now, I'll start looking for the AWD version of the axle as an upgrade.

On to the starter... that is a job to get out. The 5-speed is extra tight compared to the 700R4 versions. The clutch slave is in the way. Only way it will come out, unbolt the transmission mount, clutch slave, and inspection cover. Then jack up at the bellhousing. That gives just enough room to squeeze the starter out once it is flipped over backwards.

Nice. Thought about picking one up a time or 5...
