The Original Jaws Blazer Build

Socks are it. The Hollywood cop cars drive on the streets with canvas "MOVIE CAR" bags over the light bars. Put an old flour sack or something over them so that you're not "impersonating an officer of the law."

Any updates to this?

The show rained me out, but I got the lightbar hardware where I can just put it on and nut it up. I still haven't put the door stickers on, I won't do that till I know I am going to an event with it.

I got to find the right place for the background for my photos too

Shark week is coming up and so is another anniversary of the Jaws release date...this may happen in June

Mount them up and put some socks over them.

When I was stationed in AL, I remember the auto laws being pretty lax there. Came out of the DMV one day and saw an old pickup w/ no doors, an lawn chair for a seat and icepick for a shifter in the parking lot. As I was leaving the parking lot an old Lincoln drove in front of me doing mosquito fumigation...

Pollution laws are lax, but when it comes to lighting and stuff like that they can be very strict..particularly the State Police.

So after all the progress that has been made on this awesome ride over the years, I can't be the first to ask this....

when does Chapter two start?

That's a fair question...when I started chapter one I didn't foresee the infamous "Rust Bullet" thread coming....I suppose I originally intended on making logical steps of the restoration into chapters so that those bits could be placed wherever they belonged. Then I realized I was over my head...and through the Rust Bullet thread, Ryoken got me to where it is today....all in one thread. So the only remaining part of the restoration that isn't done is the suspension and the fiberglass top. I suppose I should consider renaming the thread, linking to the Ryokens Guide to Rust and then back to the present

Chapter 2 should just be location photos of all the adventures that you have with it now....

IMHO

You have any updates to post? What did you end up doing for the lights?

The lightbar is in the bedroom, it's ready to go. I am just waiting for the right day / play to mount them and put the decals on and get photos. It isn't going to stay in that configuration long.

that said, if I could get each individual letter magnetic, that would be nice

Careful with the magnets, my father has to use magnetic signs sometimes on his business trucks, and anything that has magnets for more than about two weeks starts to form rust under the paint, its crazy. It usually buffs out with only short exposure time, but if you've ever seen real old trucks with a door completely rusted through in the center, which doesn't normally trap moisture there, it may have had a magnetic sign for a long time?

We had a customer leave his magnetics on so long they wouldn't come off. He had to peel it off like a sticker and it managed to damage his clear coat. We almost always try to talk customers out of using magnetic signs.

I'm pretty sure the light's and any signage would be just for shows in his case. So on for a couple of hours or maybe a weekend.

Thinking about posting nothing but photos of the entire process without commentary...since this "build" is showing up in the build crawl
