Just thought I'd share the other wallet drainer, time killer project with you all. This one will be making its way into the shed so I can keep focused on the K5, since BB12 or bust is a big reality for me now.

Bought it in march of '11, while going through tough times with the misses (split up from 12/10 to 6/11) Its a 67 deville 4 door 429 th400. I purchased it from a friend of mine (Frank) who is a complete 58 buick nut! ( he currently has about 60 ) This car was brought to him in '98 by a good friend that owned a local chrome shop. Together they rechromed 90% of the cars original chrome pieces, painted it a 90's cadillac wine berry color, replaced multiple suspension parts, engine parts, window motors etc.. The owner passed in '00 leaving an unfinished car in his shop. The family wanted nothing to do with the car nor would they pay the remaining bill on the Parts that were bought. So, it sat in Franks shop for 11 years untouched untill he pulled it out in early '11. I had no idea this car was even there (lots of "stuff" kept it well hidden in his 60x100 shop) I stopped in to investigate (and cause I love vert head light caddys) he gave me the story of it, then said I should own it. $1500 later, I was the proud owner.

Lucky for me the entire fuel system was DRY. After a little fuel, fresh battery and some new battery cables, it was a fairly smooth running unit. He said it hadnt been run since late '99. I went ahead and did a complete tune-up plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points/condenser, vac advance (diaphram dry rotted) filters, oil etc.. Once the dwell and timing were set, it runs GREAT!

so the left-to-do list.
-Finish installing all pass side chrome, door handles and interior panels
-have vinyl top intsalled
-refurb dash pad
-new tires
-possible air ride system
-audio system

So there's my boring drawn out story on it.. heres a couple of pics!

sexy! I would totally make that my DD!

Thats why its getting locked away. I got 5 year collector car plates for it in january. I've been driving the daylights out of it! And of course spending $ on it....

that's a badass ride....looks like a quality paintjob and chromework.
you stole that thing man!

I'm pretty satisfied with it. Only things that could have been better are 2dr and 472.. But none the less, I like it!
