The Purple Camaro

So this followed me home. The reason Jericho wanted nothing to do with it, top loader parts in their case. Do I have to reach research to see if it’s going to be usable

So educate me. Is the Jericho T-10 based and somewhat compatible?

Ford designed the top loader because their fatazz cars were blowing up T10s which we also later redesigned into the ST10

T10 and M20s are roughly comparable
ST10s and M21s are roughly comparable
Toploaders are on par with the M22 and 833

Jerichos are Toploader based, thus the gearset will go in the magnesium case

OK, so you got something that has been kinda foxed with.

Is that Jericho supposed to be shifted without a clutch? I think the only thing I've seen a Jericho in was the Nascarlo from Roadkill, where they body dropped a '71 Monte carlo body on a NASCAR chassis. That had a nasty sbc and a Jericho 4 speed that was clutchless shifting other than getting it going.

Analysis says:

Needs $500 minimum in parts, plus a different scatter shield, plus a different shifter
Shipping and tax looking around $2k

I think I'll just convert the m21 to an iron mid plate and run it, otherwise invest in another transmission like the TKX or a Super m22

Originally, yes. With the Ford gears, it's a "normal" tranny

Bought the plate for $88 shipped. Done deal.
Changeover parts are slowly coming in, but are back burner until I get everything else squared away

Bought a cheap plasma cutter and some Thrush welded 3”, which apparently are no longer in production. Exhaust gets fixed first, hopefully track time this coming Friday

Well, that sure ain't worse. I bet that helps regain a noticeable amount of power...

Bad and ugly

The inlet/outlet on the 2.5” muffler was cut off. Three inch torch cut on the in

Cut outlet and 2.25” pipe going out
3” Thrush welded for comparison….

Weld onto metal is what the exhaust shop did. Wasn’t worth fixing when the internal baffling also needed fixed

Using the app @folkenheath made:
Sea level uncorrected numbers, so the effect is exaggerated for 4700’, but it shows the effect of running 2.25” vs 3”
Would have been better going up than down
Also, the 2.25” pipe was 1” into the case
First number is advertised hp

Nice work on the headers, I'm curious what it picks up, because I had that same scenario on a set of ported iron World Products Sportsman heads I bought used to put on my 388 SBC, for nearly 20 years like that. Someone ported them with a D port, but my 1 5/8 headers overlapped at the top (which is the worst spot). I always planned to get larger headers since I felt the 1 5/8 were too small anyway, but I ended up just building a larger engine too.

Too this day I wonder how much ET it was killing on me, I only ever got it down to 11.85@115 on motor alone with that setup, and I wondered what I was losing.

But I have a feeling that won't be the only thing you change, so we may never know.... :waytogo:

I’m only doing exhaust this go around, mostly just so I can confirm my changes don’t offset themselves. It will get new plugs

Going to get everything set up to change ignition systems at the track, so I can test the exhaust, then change
