The R/C Garage... [R/C Drivers Lounge]

Also forgot to mention, the front is 3 link with panhard bar and has a chassis mounted servo. Which is a great touch.

the only thing better than that is to go this route...

LEAF SPRINGS!!!!!

While parts searching on RPP I found some stock style alum bumpers, all I gotta say is I love em.

I think those Boggers on the white spokes are :pimp:!! Are those metal or plastic? Be cool to get some factory correct center caps.

Rc4wd rims/boggers, yes they are steel. They are beadlock wheels as well.

You can get hubs for them, I've seen warn's even. Not sure where one finds em though?

I do have a set of hubs that aren't warns though. Just never put em on anything

Ok since I am on this year long deployment I started looking at these. Found the Vaterra Ascender and it looks pretty cool.

Feedback from those that have one?

The ascenders is an awesome truck to start with. vaterra released the rtr version which will come with a dynamite brand esc, which is pretty easy to set up and work with, a dynamite motor and a vaterra servo. It's an rtr so expect things to break and wear out and have to replace them. If you keep it as a brushed motor setup then the transmission will be perfectly sufficient for a long time.

The two speed derived from the vaterra twin hammers which was a stock 2 speed from vaterra out of the box. To convert it you will need to order the appropriate gears and shafts to make it work. All part numbers are in the manual I beleive, if not I've got them written down somewhere.

When you start to begin to get into lexan body work, that can be a task on the more tedious and frustrating side. It doesn't mean it's not feasible. I've done it a few times but I still have a hard time after 8 years of this lol.

The biggest thing is to get out and have fun with it!

Had the ascender out for a couple mile trail run. Works good, boggers sure chew pretty hard in gravel piles :woot:

Had a spring blizzard this past weekend. I quite impressed with how well the boggers work in the sticky stuff.

Got a fullsize battery tray from BPC ordered it. Ill post it up when I get it.

Put the battery tray in, also found that you can swap the rock slider mounts side for side and relocate the upper links to the old battery tray mounts.

I've seen there's a couple kits to buy, but this seemed like a better option. Seems to have helped with the torque twist a little bit.

My axial ae2 esc quit, slapped the mamba max pro in it I had laying around.

Went for a test with my buddy, twisted a stock driveshaft. Got the hd's on order.
He gave me a 3s to try, I am quite impressed with the snort it has. Might have to step up with it.....

Nice pic!!!

Yeah i run only 3s....

Just started to put rear steer in my crawler. All but servo as it is in the mail. Cant wait.

Been doing a lot of work to the deadbolt lately.... Made my own upper and lower links, did a steering upgrade, and I've got a body in the works....

I have a Stampede VXL 4x4 that's fairly upgraded minus the motor and ESC. Threw on a 3s battery yesterday and not only shredded three of my Trenchers but also smoked the ESC. I think I'm going to stick to 2s and tape the new tires so they don't ballon into discs.

I'm now looking into an Axial crawler...not sure which way I'll go.

I love my scx10 deadbolt... With a few free mods it crawled great out of the box. I'm getting more into it now and you can't beat the aftermarket support.

With that being said, my next rc will be the Vaterra Ascender.

I've never even heard of a BEC, had to google it (I'm still fairly new to all of the R/C stuff....I thought it would be fun, cheap hobby to keep me occupied so I would stop spending money on guns and ammo.....bad idea cause its just as expensive it seems).

Ill look into it. Ive got the ESC and motor going back to Traxxas tomorrow after speaking with them today.
