The R/C Garage... [R/C Drivers Lounge]

I've never even heard of a BEC, had to google it (I'm still fairly new to all of the R/C stuff....I thought it would be fun, cheap hobby to keep me occupied so I would stop spending money on guns and ammo.....bad idea cause its just as expensive it seems).

Ill look into it. Ive got the ESC and motor going back to Traxxas tomorrow after speaking with them today.

A bec when u go 3s or more seperates power.. i still dont get it. I put them in and it allocates power

It does more than that, a bec can supply a direct 10 amp peak power to a servo, re eiver, or what ever you want to hook up to. Most servos that have a decent amount of torque will eat at their peak 7 to 9 amps. 99 percent of speed controls in the market will only put out a max of 5 amps peak. Most do 3 amps.

So the bec will make sure that your electronics in the truck or car will always have the correct amount of power when they need it the most.

Also keep in mind that if you get the castle creations 10 amp bec, you need to get the programmer and download the free software.

Or your local hobby store may do it for you.

I forgot bout the programmer... got mine in the cabinet...

Waiting on order from hobbyking over seas... to get some done.. robbed front axle from mudder for crawler and servo... bench sitting there ... so lonely...

Figured I'd bump this thread up/

Haven't done much on the rigs.

Switched the wroncho to 2.2 slinger xl's and the ascender to 1.9 flat iron xl's.

Been running the ascender mainly lately, sure seems to work good with the new grips on it.

Haven't done much with my Rigs all summer. Slapped a new steering servo in the wroncho and that's about it.

So my son convinced me to get back into it.
I have bought a few used rigs. I picked up a SCX10 with Hilux body. Highly used but full of aftermarket parts.
Also got a rediculous RR10 Bomber built by Steve at CKRC in Reno.
Just today picked up a stock used RTR Wraith from CKRC.
I might resale the SCX10 locally on Craigslist after I rape it of some goodies or I'll keep it for my wife and daughter to drive.
I'll post up some pics as Brycen and I start building some more after Christmas. He doesn't know that we got them yet. He thinks he has to save his money to buy the parts still. I've been asking him questions for the last month about what he wants to build.
