The RedBurb

Every Part Is Replaceable
Good. Now get out there and drive it! :saweet:

:burnout:

Yessir! I’ll be driving it to work tomorrow ...

Excellent work turning this thing into what it is!

Appreciate it! Hope to be able to enjoy it a little while now as I continue to collect parts for the front axle...

So, just some minor things to take care of on the truck that I noticed on my way in today. I think I am out of windshield wiper fluid, need to replace a windshield wiper hose, need to replace both windshield wipers, and I am pretty sure that my thermostat is stuck open again and will need to be replaced, because the whole drive in temperature never got above 150° and it is supposed to get to 195 within about five minutes of idling.

Pretty minor stuff, so I am very pleased.

I here you. I hope mine lasts me a while longer.
Oh yours should. Mine is the factory pump and I have 180k miles on mine. It's way over due.

Just for reference. My 6.5 only gets up to about 165* during the winter. Now I know it's a lot warmer down there, but even during the summer my 6.5 only runs about 180* unless I'm pulling or hauling something.

Do you have a source for this claim? None of mine would get anywhere near operating temp after five minutes of idling. Even with the winter insert blocking the grille, they wouldn't warm up quickly unless they were actually driven.

Basic it off what I witnessed after installing the new 195* tstat. Warmed up fast during idle. Even if my estimate is off, being stuck at 150* when driving around town is exactly what it was doing when the last tstat was stuck open.

So get this:

Today after work, my AC system completely gives out on me. And I mean I get absolutely nothing out of it. The fan doesn’t come on, the compressor doesn’t engage, the heater doesn’t come on, absolutely nothing works. I check the fuses and they are fine, the compressor harness is fine, the vacuum hoses appear fine. But nothing works.

Any thoughts?

Correction, the compressor was definitely engaging, just couldn’t really hear it very well, and the blower motor wasn’t working because the power wire had become disconnected from it. Lol. Reconnected and tightened up, everything works now. At least it was an easy fix! :pimp::whistle:

The big wire going to the blower?
Happened to me a few times.
Now it's the first thing I check
