The Rubicon Trail: Trail Report with 146 Pictures.

I think your K10 is quite Rubicon ready - it's a hell of a lot more built than my truck, and I made it through unscathed! :wink1:

It just looks good on paper right now. :D
It currently doesn't run and I have some bugs to work out once it gets running again.

Yeah Wentworth to lil sluice and loon to lil sluice. Wentworth to loon, loon to wentworth, etc. Ran out of time to make it all the way in. Wentworth has some fun parts, dont discount it too much. Couple nice spots and some smaller slabs. There is quite a long dirt road to get to the trailhead however.

Didn't mean to discount the Wentworth route - I've never been on it, so I wouldn't know. Whatever the case, even a dirt road in that kind of country would be well worth the drive. :D

STUNNING pictures man!!! Beautiful indeed. Hope to have the honor to run that trail someday. Props to you for getting to. :waytogo:

I'm glad you guys liked the write up... it took me a long time to do! :D I was afraid I was going overboard on it, but I had been a bit frustrated when looking for info on the internet about the trail. So, I figured too much detail can't really hurt.

Good job on the write up Colby!
I have studyed that trail many times through magazines computer and reports of some freinds that have done it.
Always wanted to do the Rubicon...and built a Landcruiser with that trail in mind.

Just never happened for me. Ohwell:doah:

Glad you guys had a blast.:thumb:

beautiful, thanks for sharing! :bow::waytogo:

You should've tagged along! :D All those Canadian folks were from Alberta... Just sayin. :wink1:

Great write up Colby :waytogo: and incredible pictures

Now another dream trip I want to take :D, but why are they always on the other side of the country :doah:

This was a great group of people, Russell, and all the others. :waytogo:

I was just a few feet away from the bear when it was ripping the cooler out of the Jeep, sleeping in my Blazer with just a tarp over me, and no tailgate.

Having stinky feet pays off, who would want to eat that? :eek1:

Great write up and awesome pics. Thanks for taking the time to do it.

For those saying there should be more trail reports like this.... We have a section called "Blazin' Trails" dedicated to trip reports like this. And more importantly, finish that project, get out and wheel and enjoy all the hard work and money you've spent on your rig. But make sure to bring a camera and take some pics to show CK5 what your little part of the world looks like. :waytogo:

I was looking through my photos again tonight and noticed that many of the ones I posted in this thread appear as though there's nobody sitting in the driver's seat. I just want to say that with the exception of one or two photos, all of them were "action" shots. My beautiful bride walked about half of the Rubicon to be our group's dedicated photographer. The ones where you can't see drivers are because we're hanging out our windows. :D I still have a bruise in my left arm pit... :doah:
