What trans did you go with?
Will this one go to 4th at WOT?Gearstar 4L85E.
The 700R4 is controlled by the TV cable, when at WOT it mechanically can't shift into 4th. The 4L85E will be completely controlled by the Holley Dominator. I'll be able to tune shift points, lock up the converter in 3rd or make it go into 4th if needed. The new engine will also have a higher rev limit and still be making power well beyond where the current engine is so 4th may not even be needed on the strip. Will this one go to 4th at WOT?

Yes, also if these don't work out, there's a few other tire brands and sizes that may, especially if I go with a non DOT tire.Good so your tires will be good then
If I want to go faster than 11.5 or 135mph, yes. I need to find out what kind of cage I need, I swear whoever writes the NHRA rulebook doesn't want anyone to understand it. I won't push this truck past 10, but I'd like to get close and I should have the power to do it.Are you going to need to cage the truck now?

BumpBump this thread tomorrow and I will ask my brother who he watched. Has really nice welds now.
I finally called him. He did not use anyone for aluminum, it was Stainless. His Aluminum has been good for a couple of decades.Bump
Thanks for the heads up on that! We loosened the latches up a bit and now the doors close nice, it would look better if they closed flush though.I've also had the problem with reproduction door seals being too stiff until I realized the door seals on a GMT800 are the exact same design but very soft and squishier. So I bought a set right from GM and trimmed it to fit. No more door slamming
