The Shop Truck

1971 Chevy C20 with a custom flat bed.
I was mistaken about what caused me to melt #8 on the first pass, as a result, I melted #8 even worse..
Tomorrow will be better!
Second run stats:

I'm pretty sure #8 was dead for the entire run, but it was an 11 still. I'll give details after we figure out if I'm right this time or not.

I'm in line waiting for the staying lanes to open. We're pretty sure we have it figured out, again... We're still on the 300 jets, hoping to get closer to 11.5 this time.

First run sucked, I hit a safety and this nitrous cut off. No damage to the plugs as it happened right away. I think it's mainly because the air was better as that part of the tune hadn't changed much.
I made some changes and we're back in the lanes.

#8 ground strap melted again... From what I can tell, #8 gets nitrous first and has it last, we're trying to determine if the damage is happening at the beginning of the run or the end. I made some more changes to help the beginning and we're going to run the nitrous all the way down track this time. If I see 130mph before the finish, I'll let off.

Maybe you have to cut the NoS at a larger interval before the fuel cut off. Nice run though

does your ECM track a misfire for #8? curious where that is vs load

Unfortunately Holley doesn't work well with knock sensors, so no misfire data. It also doesn't have an easy way to keep the fuel running after you shut down the nitrous when you're running a dry shot.

I also forgot to mention that I got interviewed while in the lanes for Freiburger's YouTube channel

Well, we can add that last run to things I shouldn't have done in my life...
The noob in the right lane only lit the first bulb, I've never had that happen to me so I wasn't ready for when their light went red and the lights started going. I didn't get fully up on the converter fully so the nitrous took .2 seconds longer to fire. Other than that the run felt good.

When I was on the return road I heard the engine running really rough. I pulled the logs and everything looked good, better than the last run. I tried to pull #8 plug and it's stuck, I can only turn it about 1/2 turn back and forth so there's significant damage there. I don't have any lean spikes over 13.2:1 and that was before the solenoid was fully open. I have no idea what caused this again, but we're done for the weekend. I'll pull it on the trailer with 7 cylinders and pull the head when we get home.

I screwed the plug back in and verified that cylinder is not firing. I pulled the coil plug and injector plug. I think we'll go through the judging here at 4, then put it on the trailer.

I think it's stuck because part of the threads are unshielded from the part of the head that's missing. A piece of molten strap probably landed on the threads and now it's stuck. When I pull the head I'll get it repaired this time

I thought I had posted this picture before, but here's what I'm talking about with the plug being unshielded.
