The Shop Truck

1971 Chevy C20 with a custom flat bed.
So awesome, that thing does some good burnouts… I need a 427 now :haha:

How was it visiting Steve’s shop? Dude is a engine genious.
That's with the party pully on and a tank full of e85. I was maybe 1/2 throttle. The valve for the rear brakes is the ticket!
His shop was cool, his son and one of the other shop guys (the skinny guy?) checked out my truck and asked some questions.

How did you feel about that? I hate when the cool guys look at my truck, I always think I did something wrong.

The only other issues we've had (besides sleeping) is the evaporator keeps freezing up (what's with all the water in the air up here?), and the horn stopped working after my run yesterday.
I forgot to push the datalog button yesterday, my only mistake on the run thankfully, so I'm not changing the tune for today. This is also supposed to be the worst track conditions we'll have, so who knows if I'll hook up today.
I switched from "fastest Chevy" class to "fastest Nitrous" thanks to the 25 shot, now I'm in 3rd and only .27 seconds behind 2nd!

Lol, everyone that looks at the engine bay compliments it, even them. People come up to me to tell me they love the truck, then I pop the hood and they are blown away. I think Zimmer said "wow, it looks better in person than in pictures" which absolutely made my day.

I thought it looked great before can’t wait to see it now.

We're at the track and ready. They switched up the run order and it will be a while before we run. Maybe the faster cars will put some rubber on the start line.
Not much signal here, so I'm not sure I'll be able to post any pictures.

I haven't gotten much testing with the blower on kill yet, that's what we're doing today.
We were actually in the first pair and the first car to finish today. Let's just say everything worked.

Also, it did it's first wheelie!

I just meant the air cleaner, with the right size air cleaner it won't matter or sometimes it smooths the flow on a sharp inlet and picks up power. No reason to take it off if it doesn't go faster. I take it off once just to see if i need to change it.

I couldn't sleep so I reuploaded.

Excellent runs, have fun!

I hope you catch up on your sleep.

I can't help but think you would pick up a tenth or two without the crane on there, unless it spun.

Maybe on the last day, I don't think I can realistically beat the other two nitrous trucks unless they drop out.
In the nitrous class with a "20 shot" is not a recipe for winning, you are missing a zero at a minimum. Of course how many of the nitrous guys also have a supercharger?

Did you see any difference in the IAT with the nitrous on? Or is the nozzle after the IAT?

I would spray a 75 or 100 shot at least if I were you. A 20 shot is for an ATV or something. :waytogo:

Amber got some great video, love the slo mo one!
Best of runs, and drives coming yet.
Any consideration of a bigger shot of N20, or don’t mess with success until the last day?

And yeah, the engine compartment turned out great!

I didn't get a log yesterday so I didn't want to turn it up. Tomorrow is a drive day, but I'll turn it up at the next track. So many people spun today, I had zero traction issues.
