After many years of debate on keeping or selling my blazer. I have finally decided to sell it. Being my first vehicle and owning it for 14 years it was a hard decision, but better things are to come in the future for my family and the money could be well used. I will be sticking around though. Even though my account says I was a member since 05, I have actually been since 2000 under a different name.

I just felt like I was keeping a secret without telling everyone, whether they care or not.

Well I am also selling 2 of my vehicles, but that is not even a dent in my Chevy trucks collection, I am sorry you have to give up your only chevy.:doah:

I do have my 98 1500 still, it's just a more practical vehicle for my needs.
It's on ebay currently. Only brown and white one on there.
To me it's kind of like a band aid, rip it off quick and it'll hurt less. Although I have put a lot of thought into it. I'd rather it go far off so I never see it again, but then again to someone I know will take good care of it.

Reviving an old thread...

Hey guys - new to this forum but not at all new with K5's. My first vehicle was a '78 that I drove for 10 years, built it up, down, and sideways and in the end, sold it to a guy who I could tell was pretty much going to trash it. So I know what you mean CC when you say you hope it goes (or went) to someone who will take care of it after all the time and money you put in to it. Especially a rig a clean as yours. But you know you will likely see yours someday, you'll probably even drive it again if you come to colorado. It took me a while to put two and two together (you had told me in Evansville you were a member of this forum), but I figured it out, and I'm the guy who acquired CC's beautiful '79. Now it takes up space in my garage and I couldn't be more thrilled. It's run perfectly since CC sold it to me back in May. It will see as little of the colorado winter as I can manage. My '78 was beginning to rust badly when I sold it, I don't intend to let this one take the same course. Thanks again, CC for building such a sweet example - it will be well taken care of.

Hey Ken, Been busy lately, sorry I hadn't emailed you back lately. I happened to check on here today with a slow day at work, and saw this thread revived. That surprised me to see. Glad to see you are still lovin her. These guys are great, and to be honest, no other forum community is like this one on the internet.

I hang out on tahoe/yukon forum. MTBR.com, performancetrucks.net, and still no other community is as good as this one. You will learn a lot from them.

BTW. the membership cost is well worth it.

Hey guys - pics of CC's '79 in its new environment..

Blazers on Holy Cross trail near Leadville, CO. My brother has the '72 with an injected 383, sm465 and a 205. We got as far as French Creek before snow and ice covered the trail. In good conditions it would have been a difficult obstacle to get through without body damage, so we were good with turning around.

My daughter and I took the Blaze about half way up Spring Creek before she was bored out of her mind. Why can't I seem to finish a trail?!

Here it is making my office parking lot look good.

I love this truck. It'll be going to moab this spring - can't wait to see how it does on the slickrock!

I've been looking for a clean K5 on and off for almost 20 years (since I sold my '78). The timing worked just right when I found CC's '79 for sale. I made a big effort to get it because it was so clean and built almost exactly to my pie-in-the-sky wish list for a truck that would not only perform well in say, Moab, but also be enjoyable to drive the 650+ miles round trip. The only near-future additions will likely be lockers and fuel injection. Eventually an AtlasII may find its way underneath for the low-range gearing possibilities but the current 203 is in good shape. Right now I'm at 20-ish:1 crawl ratio - not ideal but better than my '78 was! It made easy work of Holy Cross all the way to French Creek and that trail isn't exactly easy up to that point. The articulation is great and even without lockers I only had to adjust my line a couple times looking for traction. So for now I'm just gonna drive it - it's awesome. Looking forward to being a part of this forum.
