The time has come..

Welcome to CK5, brother!!!! Nice score!!!! :waytogo:

I too sold my 84 K5 after owning it for 17 years, and have been on a casual hunt for a replacement ever since. My biggest challenge is finding something that's not completely rusted to ****- I'm probably gonna have to take a road trip to buy the one I want(if I ever find it!!!!)

Same challenge I ran in to! The clean ones I'd find (when I could even find one) were very stock, still commanded a pretty good price, and that's of course before any mods at all.

I met CC in Evansville, IN to pick it up. Drove a couple hours to O'Fallon, IL, spent the night at a friends place, then drove 15 hours straight through to Denver. That old truck didn't miss a beat! Again - my thanks to CC for the quality of the build.

Yeah, she always was my most reliable vehicle. I have had many trucks, but she always sat patiently in the garage for me to come and start her back up. She always started right up.

I think the engine would do well with FI. What kit were you planning on going with? TBI, or the FAST EZ-EFI ;)

Hey there CC! I really like the Howell Chevy V8 Twin TBI kit in that most of the system parts are off the shelf GM numbers and relatively inexpensive. But that requires a manifold change so I'm half tempted to get a system that can adapt to a big block eventually. In other words, I'm not sure! The fast ez system looks good, I'm not too familiar with that, but it looks to be more in line with being able to top a 454 someday. I guess I have a few miles more out of the 350, I think I'm up to about 18K including the 13K you had on it. So I'm probably getting ahead of myself. I've had the truck at some pretty extreme angles and the q-jet doesn't stumble at all so there's no urgency I suppose. Alright - I tend to ramble on. Gonna go look at FI systems...

Cool story about the K5.
I know if I ever sold mine I would want it to go to a good home like this.

Good to see its still around!! by far one of the best looking trucks on this sight, and I don't even like K5's
