The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

That delivery driver got a show. Did he say anything to you? I still think you need a detroit, but that was better.:waytogo:

ya, he actually knew what axle I had under it too:eek1:, he offered to hold the camera but I decided a couple vids was enough:D

I am thinking a detroit, or arbs front and rear would be cool...

My factory locker in my '05 1/2 ton does that also.

haha I was wondering about that driver, I thought it was funny he popped out and stopped. Yeah the factory locker will open up and unlock after your wheel speed exceeds 20mph.

Thats Great,
Truck looks awesome...

It's a good thing i dont have a 2500, or id be doing a solid front axle swap...

no too shabby. gives me motivation to get off my ass and get in gear, i miss driving my truck!

ah ha! :D Thanks now I know. Ill do it again after I regear to 5.13s truck has 4.10s at the moment.

as for how it handles. overall I am really happy with it, I just need to change the springs out to a single rate so they are not bowing in the middle. I am also trading my 4 inch blocks for some 2 inch blocks this week. then later ill get the springs. I just want to get away from the big blocks. Took it by the exhaust shop today to get a game plan too. I cant wait to have some 4wd donuts:doah:

finally got a tranny mount fabbed up, used a race car weld on tube mount and some flanges. I'll add some gussets to it sometime this week.

Also thinking about just regearing the rear axel to 4.56 gears to match the front dana 60. I really want the 5.13's but I also like having some highway gear and in my opinion the truck has and will have plenty of power.

later this week ill get the exhaust done and get the front driveshaft in!

Exhaust is done, I had a huge power loss I can feel as soon as i put the muffler back on:(

Right now I am trying to decide on tires and find a 4.56 rear 14 bolt, 70 or the new aam axle.

That and I need to drop the rear shaft off as it needs to be a tad longer.

Also put the correct year grill back on it so I no longer have the billit crap, I just need to deside to paint the end pieces black, or white??

Why not run 10 series flowmasters... the single chamber ones.

They'd probably give you as little restriction as possible while still running a muffler...

First of all :bow::bow::bow::bow: you do awesome work and you work fast.

Now a request can you please do a parts list for the front SAS? This thread is SOOOO long and you changed your mind a few times I couldnt figure out what you actualy used. Im pretty sure it was a combo of cage/ballistic parts but I couldnt really narrow it down.

Im doing a little research for a future SAS on my 97 as I have found a HPD44 and I dont want to go as high as yours, only 35" tires. I think the radius arm and coils or coilovers would be the sweet setup.

And finally I think the grill ends under the headlights should be white.

ok.. looking for input I have been beating my brain on gearing/locker options

currently have a gov locked 4.10 geared 14 bolt, and a open dana 60 front with 4.56 gears.

option 1 =$700.00
-re-use gov lock, buy thick 4.56 gears and a mini install kit comes to around $320.00
-then buy a lock right for the front..$375 ish

*this option is the cheapest but with a 38 inch tire, and the chance I might go to a 40 inch..leaves some desired gearing, would be nice for highway and the truck has the balls so no issue there.

option 2 =$1150.00
-5.13 gears and install $320.00ish
-5.13 for the front & install $320.00ish
-lock right $375.00

*This option is nice for the skinny pedal

option 3 $930.00
- 14 bolt...4.56 gears and install $320.00
-dana 60..detroit locker, $530.00..install in buggy mini install 80.00 and swap the buggy's new lock right in this truck

*This option allows a nice upgrade for the buggy in the strength department

also last weekend revamped the coil mounts, 188 wall dom and 3/8 plate. The new springs are a bit stiffer, but do not rub do to the new mounts and sadly lifted the front some more..I am deciding if I stick with them or raise the rear to match. Next upgrade is some custom deaver springs so I can loose the blocks! yay! For gears I decided on 5.38's and it puts me about factory with the rpm range.
