The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

well finally found some non half ton lift spindles, fabtech does not sell them sperate, so that leaves with the cst spindles,

for the rear im going to add some ck5 thought to it and shackle flip the rear and get a better ride as well,

ill put the 35's on for now then regear add a body lift and run the 38s and regear to 4.88 later.

also waiting for the custom computer program till after i do the tires and gear.

yes it is staying a 2wd, even if it was 4wd does not change that the truck is not going off road, I decided to get a 2wd for a reason...

keeps me out of trouble,

if I wanted to I could simply put in a 205 behind my tranny and cut a whole in the floor...but that would be going to the dark side.

Oh your throw paddle tires on the back to hit the dunes sooner or later I have a feeling...:rolleyes:
 
just glass the front, flare the rear, spindle lift, leave the rear alone. 35 easy with no rub or body lift:D

already did a leveling kit on it, these things have a wild drag car rake when their new:crazy: also did some :hack: to the front air damn to stop the rub..:D

also put the tires wheels from the burb on, 285's measure to just under a 33 inch.


plans are for a truck box to put my nitrogen tank in, and new equipment, and just put a 6 foot snap top some type of toonahoodoo cover thing on the top. no work shell since im loving the look of a truck again:bow: damn thing looks like a 4x4.

did you put the 285's on the stock rims? i can't tell from the photo? i'm trying to decide if i want to do this, as i don't want to chop on mine!

i'd love to pick your brain a bit on your trials, can you pm me when you have a few?

You can fit them with aftermarket wheels too. Just crank up the torsion bars and trim the front plastic a little.

im picking up some 315 bfg all terrains for it thursday, the 285 "33's" fit, I have a feeling 35's is pushing it with no lift:haha:


might have to make them fit.... I also am shopping for some 4.56 gears for it, the 4.10s are ok, but after going with even more tire..

just food for thought, I am really pondering putting it on the military tires... but then again got the 86 to keep up on..the buggy...and currently shopping for a 60's car for a project when the buggy is done.

You seem offly concerned with non functional, impractical components that do nothing for a work truck unless your job is to service swamp tullies in the middle of the Florida Everglades...

I am in the middle of a work truck build up myself, and after gettting a nice fresh paint job and some nice aluminum wheels and tires with a real LOAD rating for WORK with a FRIENDLY tread on....I'm now interested in making the truck a work tool. While you are trying to figure out how much lift you can get out of a 2wd and the biggest useless tire you can stuff under it, I'm trying to decide on a Hobart or Lincoln portable welder. While you are trying to decide what gears to run I'm trying to figure out where to install my air hose and electrical cord reels in the best spot....

I'm not trying to be an asshat on purpose, I'm just trying to point out that you have your priorities out of order and are clearly going for yet another "form" truck that is supposed to be all about "function, which a work truck is nearly the definition of the word "function."

But hey, good luck there.... you'll outgrow that stuff when you get tired of hoisting up the side to grab a 1/2" wrench on a truck with 369387584" of lift on 38" vibrator military tires.

no more 8.1 motor anymore, believe me I wanted it:(

Believe me you don't, instead of having no power with a gas engine now, you'd then still have no power and use even more gas. After you fill up with diesel, every other gas engine feels gutless unless it's a BB with a 8-71 blower sitting on top of it...

I don't mean to come off as a butthead at you, I am just simply trying to show that you are shooting for impractical parts for what is supposed to be a work truck. What I think a work truck should be, doesn't automatically mean you are doing something incorrectly, I am just trying to show that 38" Military tires are not function on any work truck that doesn't require blasting through 18" of mud to get to a jobsite.;)

Don't get your panties in a bunch - not everyone does the same type of work. A good work truck for you may not be the best for someone else. Let him spend his money on what he likes - it keeps the local shops in business :)
