Dude you should have talked to me first. I have access to bypass oil filtration setups for a good price and also very good filters. With a good bypass filtration unit and a good oil & filter you should be able to go alot longer then 10,000 miles on an oil change. I am using Amsoil Syn & High efficiency oil filters on my Dodge and I go 15,000 WITHOUT bypass filtration. Some guys with bypass are going 50,000+ on changes with analysis.

I was looking into the amsoil set up as well, my Uncles transport business has been using this company on his trucks for years and I was pretty set on them. The guy was here at the shop dropiing a kit for a superduty to my buddy dave and I kind of just went for it. crazy how beefy this stuff is!

I purchased 4 filters with the unit so I dont mind changing it more often, I have read some crazy miles people go between oil changes though both on this system and the amsoil:eek1: With analysis I would probably go longer for sure.

Out of curriosity why didn't you go with the P3? Thats what I have and its a sweet little unit.

I picked up a P3 a couple months ago for the machine shop's 2500hd and then picked up another one about a month ago for my C2500 and I had a hard time finding them. There is a HUGE RV shop in town that had them but they were only able to get one at a time...

Is there a thread that splains these bypass oil systems? If not can someone splain them for us in the dark? Search didnt find much just a few mentions on them not a detail thread.

Bypass filtration is basically adding on another oil filter that has a super fine media in it so it catches alot more dirt/particles. It works in conjunction with your standard oil filter. A standard filter is called a full flow filter which means all your oil flows through this filter all the time. A bypass filter only take partial flow. It "bypasses" a portion of your oil into the bypass filter as the oil is pumped around filtering that portion of your oil alot finer then your standard oil filter can keeping your oil cleaner longer.

You can check out the Amsoil systems above. I am an Amsoil dealer like mentioned but I am not a vendor here so I won't answer any more specific questions about it dealing product on open forums. There are alot of other companies that make the bypass setups, Amsoil is one of them.
