The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

what not just run a set of 4" lifted rear springs? so ull get a little more spring rate since its a work/tow rig?

truck look sick man

The shackle flip moved the rear axle forward a couple inches, so I am trying to fix that issue too, tossing some 8 inch deavers out back and putting the shakle back to stock gets in done in one punch..

Were you saying to leave the shackle flip and just a 4 inch spring?

Then I still need to get the axle back in the correct spot. I really dont want to move the hanger, its right by the gas tank and would be a serious headache.

I am going to call up deaver, it only needs to tow around 6000-6500.

Why not run a triangulated 4 link in the rear???
With bags or coils.

today I said fuggit, and ordered the deavers, 895.00 for good old leaf springs I was ready to bend over and then remembered the 80 for tax, so nearly a grand for damn leaf springs..I am happy though since they bolt on..they claim 16-18 inches of wheel travel so Ill be testing that out:pimp:

Deaver said towing should not be a problem with the weight I want to tow, "6500"

Sucks, but I really did not want to spend a weekend under the truck and hope I get it right the first time with building the hangers.

Ill see where the truck sits in the rear, I already swapped the black srings out and put the grey coild on and lowered the truck back down. I am trying to see if I can go lower in the front. I am thinking about some 14 inch king coil overs.

quality parts aint usually cheap. keep it up, the truck is definitely sweet

so wish me luck.. I am going to try to swap out the rear sprigs today, 107 degrees, a floor jack, 1 jack stand and a high lift and hand tools..ill use my anti darwin skills to be safe but this should take a while

tried to remove the high lift to reset it so I could get the jack stand in, seems the axle did not like that idea...I had left the tires on so the truck could not fall on me, looks like that idea proved worth while..

the neat part is I now know how much I need to trim to stuff the 41's.. and one side of the truck is rockin the cali look

now to figure a way out of this

sooo,

got it all together, did some straighting on the fender, then took it for a test.. long story short, I had swapped in the grey progressive rate coils, the top rate was collapsed and there for had no travel, the spring bowed in the middle, not only do they bottom out and chatter like crazy..turns out they were the week link..ill replace them and report back how it does next time..

I had also just tossed the top on there because I had to store some work stuff int he back, well I should have actually bolted the top down, I just tossed in some self tapping screws since i planned on taking the top off..made for some hilarious entertainment..

commentary is pg13 with some language, so turn it down or off if that is a concern please.

good fun..:haha::doah::D

edit...I loaded the wrong vid, ill load the good one in a few!

You sir are hilarious. I envy you for having the balls to beat on a truck like that. When is the bumper build up starting? :wink1:

Great thread. Truck is awesome. I have the same truck but an 06'. I will leave it a DD, but great job on the build. Cant believe I never looked in here till today.

I was waiting for you to put the Duke of Hazard theme in the back ground. Now all you need is a rebel flag on the roof and the Dixie horn.
