Just a heads up this is my daily driver again.. getting a steady 8mpg average with getting on the gas when I feel the need to liberate some rubber off my tires. For the most part im driving more conservative though.

Im actualy impressed to see 300 miles from a tank, currently looking for a straight bed so I can put my work top on. Today was a 150 mile day with work, tomorrow should be similar! I tossed a clip board in the truck so I can keep better track of the mud flap tickets im racking up

Yes finish off the 41's instead of destroying the 42's also. One day you might actually wheel the buggy and you won't have any tires for it

O and the moab trip.... I can use a 40 ft triple axle trailer if I want. We can take the truck and the buggy?, or the truck and the blazer? or perhaps all 3 if they'll fit?

The buggy is only 12-13 feet long.. and we could always chop off some of the truck to make it shorter

Monday while driving around the truck acted funny and not a mile later the rpms started climbing and then I lost all forward gears.



options on the table..


1. build a damned 4l80 already with a nice torque converter

2. I lined up a a Alision trans, the bummer is is that its currently a 4x4 version..so I would need some parts to go to a 2x4 version..or get an atlas or 205 on the back of the 4x4 one.. this suck because I would have to redo everything under the truck..

3. Another option is I have a friend selling a totaled 07 NBS extended cab d-max truck. I can get the whole truck with 32k on it for 4500-5500 bucks.. This would be a quite a swap though and with trying to buy another daily driver I dont think I can swing the cash. Cool option though



Currently looking at other trucks right now for a daily and trying to come to a decision.

the thread title represents what it was origionaly bought for.. a tow rig and a work truck..guess that plan went out the window at some point..
