The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

Spent the day having a blast! Bounced back and forth between good spots to catch some action, by far the bests action was at chcolate thunder and sledgehammer,

My buggy is broke and I have some fun stories to tell haha:whistle:

Great Odin's Raven!!!!! What's that f***er weigh?!

BTW, that's hot as hell!:thumb:

No idea yet but I loaded it with 4 guys then unloaded it by my little self when I got home... I still have my fingers and my driveway is ok
:eek1:

Tonight started putting the Yukon super joints together and the superior custom inner and outer shafts and tossed the axle under the buggy. I have decided to drill the axle and frame brackets out for 3\4" bolts, figure with all this work I don't want a 5/8" bolt being a failure point.

For brakes I am thinking about Solid axle hubs and half ton brake brackets and calipers. Other options are blue torch fabs aluminum hubs. Any thoughts? I am looking for feedback on durability vs. The steel version.

Spent many hours at KOH checking out tire and wheel options and talking with the vendors and some engineers on hand. End of the day I have decided on the pitbull Rocker. I want the goodyear 42" but they said they don't plan on making more of them till jan next year, at 700 a tire I would want 6 at least so I have a spare for my spare.. Same story with the 43" sticky from interco, just not very available. Some locals are loving the rockers and they seem to be tuffer than the bfg's and iroks sidewalls. We shall see!

Wheels should be hear soon, went with some 17" Raceline beadlock. Raceline recomended the steel beadlock ring as the aluminum can/will gual from rocks and can cut the tire up over time and low pressure. The input is from the horses mouth so ill take it as a worthy suggestion.

Front axle looks amazing. I'd take beef over low weight when its sitting down that low on the rig. The whole tire game gets old, these are great, those are great but you can only get this one. The PBR's should be great tires, but choices are always nice.
Are you going to be rolling by september for BB? Did you build the chassis to or was it from somebody else?

Sometimes I HATE myself.

I think I might change my chassis:doah::doah::doah::doah::doah::doah::doah:

New Artec chassis will be available in a 4 seater and I am thinking about dumping mine. So.. positives.. its secccxy as hell, negatives is I start all over.

Wheres that pcm bracket from?

I can't remember but he is a pirate vender, they're are around 45.00, I do remember them in the vender section there, also another pirate vendor trent fabrication sells a similar mount.

And york, yes mine is the kore chassis. Its hard for me to even consider a chassis change at this point but I really, really like that one. I'm going to keep truckin on mine till they release pics of the 4 seater version.

Currently deciding on if I want aluminum hubs or not. "No idea" as I can't use my drw ones with the new wheels. Also oceanstatelazar guy flaked out on me :( and 12 volt guy is saying he is still 4-12 weeks out on big custom jobs. So.. I may get this thing close and have no button to push to start it :(

Going to try to find someone else to work with or maybe hit up one of my customers to see I'd they would be interested. I'm open to ideas here too :)

I think Blue torch is using 7075 for their AL 60 hubs. We looked at using them for the race car but the money was needed elsewhere.

The advice we got from big name well respected desert guys is that they wouldn't use a 6061 bearing hub that has splines in it. They would use a 7075 hub. For desert stuff they would even consider having them hard anodized.

i went ahead and just went with the Solid Industries new hub and brake brackets, the blue torch fab hubs are only 80 more but I dont want to be the idiot that ruins them.

call me silly but its just the choice I ended up at.

but.. my new shoes came in! Wahoo! btw I am still in the market for goodyears, I know i bugged you guys at koh but I still want to find a set in my lap at some point.
