more fun, so between my last buggy, the silverado and the colorado i broke 5 oil pans in the past few years.. needless to say thats not good for the ol main bearings.

bye bue cast aluminum hello Kevco Racing steel pan with remote oil filter and added capacity and better clearance. this pan is narrower, but longer and less deep. Came with the pick up tube as well as hardware and the remote oil filter manifold.

next up is the rear 14 bolt axle truss from Artec industries. Set up and had it tacked on stupid fast and it matches my front dana 60 truss and ram mount.

After a shave kit and cover this axle is done! also bought the heavy duty arb air line kit so that pesky line should be less of an issue on this buggy when driving over crap that i should not be "stupid mattress's"

whoops

they are in all kinds of order but here ya goes

14 bolt also got finished up today with the shave, as did the rest of the tires came in and as a bonus my panels are back from powdercoat.

GF even came over tonight and brought dinner to hang out while I worked away:woot:

oh yeah! Bolted the panels in with some new stainless steel hardware and button head countersuck allen screw thingys so the feet do not catch on them as easy. This made my day!

Sadly I need to do work still to the trans tunnel area so those pieces will have to wait for powdercoat.

I discovered I am getting lazy, I would rather pay for powdercoat than sand and paint, so much easier other than the waiting part, that part sucks.

What is the advantage for the removable lower "x" tubes other than leg room? Just curious. Looks great.

The way the floor is paneled out it would be impossible to remove it, makes working in the buggy much easier too, I'd assume its for leg room but I think ill be leaving it in and passengers won't know the difference.

I do need to figure out padding for a few choice tubes, looks like there is an array of options from custom made with velcro to simple stuff with tape, bands or zip ties hmmm ? I have never had it but I sat back there and while roomy the padding would be nice.

Second batch of powder coated parts made it back.. this is the color the panels and hood, dash etc will be as well.

Got a bit done last week, sadly grandfather is in the hospital and its not looking good so progress will have to be here and there as I want to spend some time with him while I still can.

New ORI stx struts with resi's came in too.

Still waiting on my front wheel hubs, bearing kit, seat belts, sliders, harness and switch panel.

This weeks goals in time allows

-hydro steering plumbed
-remote oil filter mount and plumbing
-fuel cell mount
-remote fuel fill mount welded and cut out
-steering wheel mount, tube
-brake pedals
-rear calipers

ORI Resi's?!?!? :saweet:

Please explain..... Are those standard issue now, or we're they special order? What sort of price premium are the reservoir version? Are they rated better now for trucks with a lot of sprung weight?

This interrogation has now ended. :)

Before with ori's the "sweet" spot was the middle of the stroke, + and - 1". So on a 16" ori it was from 7-9", unless you have them setup special. After the sweet spot they go into the second stage of dampening. So if you set them out of this you are not utilizing all of the strut(like me). The new ones (stx) use a different valving system and now they can be set up at any height. The old ones can be retrofitted too, different cap with the new goodies in it. The res is an add on, just made to fight fade with more oil capacity, just like other reservoirs. The go fast crowd said these faded when going fast. They are supposed to be able to handle the heavier trucks better than the old, but I don't believe the weight capacity is any different on the new stx.
I believe the reservoirs are $100 ea, struts are still the same $$

Bingo:thumb:

We gots a bonefied roller, sadly I am strapped for time lately but managed to mount the rock lights and weld on my mounts for the ORI's,

Ill pick up a full N20 tank and get to stare at my ride hight,

Next up is my exhaust, was really wanting to use stock manifolds "headers suck" but I want to move my motor back 1 silly inch to gain another inch of uptravel:rolleyes:

So.. More unplanned spending will commence,

New arb is here too, along with the tire fill kit/hose, it won't be that impressive for a 42" tire but the option is nice to have. I have a dead arb compressor here as well so after I fix it ill have a spare on hand.

Just got back from the hospital and had to play a little.

ride hight is obviously going to be lower, right now the belly is at 25-26" plan is to run it at 22" if I can.

Decided on headers too for the 6.0, will be Hooker block huggers H312HKR. Usually I make the exhaust someone else's nightmare but I have yet to be satisfied with any of it long term.

After I get the headers I will order the bends and make something both compact, well routed and with ample room for radiant heat as well as removal!

"Thats the dream anyways"

almost full bump shown here, rear can go 2 more inches, after moving the motor the front should too.

ARB set up with air up kit, I will say as usual I am happy with their perceived quality, hose seems top notch.

Will be for just topping off air pressures or if I blurp from an inner bead or something.
